Fox News’ Megyn Kelly thinks America is in a “dangerous” place right now due to the public’s heightened distrust of the mainstream media.
NPR sat down with Ms. Kelly on Wednesday for a wide-ranging interview on everything from charges of sexual harassment against former Fox News chairman Roger Ailes to the challenges reporters will face covering a Trump administration over the next four years. “The Kelly File” star said at one point during the 45-minute interview that she was worried about the divide between the American public and media outlets providing them with news.
“I think it’s dangerous, the entire delegitimization that [President-elect Donald Trump] engaged in against all of the media,” Mrs. Kelly said. “The people, as much as it’s fun to hate us, they need us. They need good, strong, skeptical journalists to be covering whoever it is — whether it’s Barack Obama or President Donald Trump. We’re in a dangerous phase right now where too many millions of Americans aren’t listening at all to what the press tells them. That concerns me.”

Well, is there such a thing as "traditional media"? It irks me to NO end when I read suppositions (not yours mind you) about the media outlets (their self-appointed role of "preserving freedoms") or the power structures (the "sanctity of the public job") and the like. If one were to just scratch the surface of the role of the media in American life, just a scratch, the stench of propaganda will quickly follow. There were, and are, times when the immense majority of media outlets are nothing but a mere sub-departments of the Department of State. They do very little to no investigative reporting, and the spectrum of what can be discussed is a very little and narrow band of topics. And the politically correct environment made things much, MUCH, worse. It perpetuated the perception that nothing negative is to be said at any time, even if it's true, and reversing it could bring about major change to one of the parties. If you're a grown ass adult, and you can't stand hearing someone else criticize you, what you do, or something you said, you're not an adult, you're a child. And this is exactly what the elites have cultivated: a society in which nothing negative is ever said, and those that come out and say it are quickly shunned and told that they're "losing it".
Going back to the media... wanna know which media outlets tell you the truth at all times? Those that deal with investing money. They have to.

She doesn't hold her lead in on FOX and gets beat by Rachel Maddow. However, being associated with FOX makes her unattractive to Liberal media outlets. The problem I see with her, in general, is that she's just not likable. Sure, she's hot, but that doesn't put her in exclusive company on FOX. She might get a gig, but there's no reason for her to be considered as a blue chip free agent.

Mainstream media is little more than corporate propaganda. With the removal of the Smith - Mundt act once credible sources became fake news. After 911 any true journalists that were left were shit canned and we were left with telepromter readers who didn't know shit about what they were reporting. The rise of the internet marked the decline of television and the bullshit the media spewed during the last election cycle sealed their fate. Fuck the newspapers - fuck the television - fuck the mainstream media. They are now fake news becoming old news.
