i only train 3 times a week so i dont have that many chances to get it right.
this is how i prepared for todays training:
i had a big meal, about 1500-2000 calories, this is pushing it for me, i almost felt like fainting.
after that i had a nap for 2 hours.
now im preparing on one hand my pre-workout shake and my post-workout shake.
the pre-workout shake consists of 1 full scope of mesomorph.
the post-workout shake consists of 2 scopes of nectar protein isolate. not sure how much protein that is but should be in the 40-50 grams range.
1-1,5 hour after that while im still in the anabolic window i will make dinner, because of the heavy amount of food earlier i will eat less and settle for about 1000 calories.
for the gym i will listen to the new megadeth album 'dystopia'.
im waching a little bit of ronnie coleman before the gym, its either that or dorian yates, i decided today will be ronnie coleman.

Here's my weird pre workout routine.

Normal routine is get home from work, sit on couch while woman makes cup of tea, drink tea in relaxed fashion then go in garage and train. Psyching up has legit use in powerlifting meets, strongman comps ect, If you have to psyce up for a workout then your a fucking idiot

new for today was that i did shrugs in the standing calf machine! what a weirdo!! felt a bit awkward but im trying to work around elbow pain.

I am giving pre workouts and high caffeine a break its not good to take that crap long term, so now I am into natural energy with that in mind I wake up in the morning grab the blender put two tablespoon of royal jelly, 1 tablespoon of bee propolis and a tablespoon of bee pollen I mix that with a cup of blackstrap molasses and a cup of honey plus a couple panax ginseng pills after about half an hour it kicks in you get this raw natural energy that makes you feel like you want to run to the gym.
I blast some hardcore heavy metal in my car to get me in the mood once I get to the gym I have two bottles of coconut water that I use for my intra workouts, post workout I take in two scoops of whey isolate then two hours later I have a large meal.

I wake up at 3:30 AM, drink 2 cups of coffee (one has Creatine in it), leave for gym at 4:45 to be there at 5 AM.
Silence in the car on the way there. No need for me to get psyched up, been doing this shit for 38 years now.

As I have gotten OLDER , IT gets tougher to get my ass to the gym ,so I take a look at some black and whites photos of Arnold at his prime training at Golds by Artie Zeller, and play some of the songs from the era when I was innocent enough to think that building a physique like Arnold or having the talent of a Pedro martinez would give me the same results in life ......
And before you know it, I'm driving to the gym in no time .

I can relate about losing motivation as I get older.
For example, on my way to the gym last week, I went to the car wash.
I was driving up to the gym and saw the reflection from the big front window.
I quickly realized my body would never look as good as my clean, shiny Mustang .

THEN, I bought the 2 for $10 Whopper combos and ate both of 'em.

I was hack squatting the other week and a guy took a plate off to use on the bench when I was about to start my set, I only noticed as the weight felt odd, I racked the machine and went and took the plate off his bar while he was mid bench press and put it back on the hack machine and finished my set.
