No ivy league graduate would waste their time trying to become an IFBB pro. Maybe a few amateurs, but no pro's.

Not really accurate to call competitive bodybuilders lazy, especially pros. Takes a huge amount of focus and discipline to do this. Anybody who has been in even just a local contest knows this. That said, it is true that many are not focused on jobs or career or "stability" and mooch off other individuals. But lazy is the wrong way to describe it.

um...bodybuilding can be an advantage! My friend who is a Taiwanese has won several bodybuilding competitions in taiwan. Actually his academic result in undergrad was just okay but he sent application letters with his bodybuilding completition awards and photos to several famous US universities. at the end, he got a master degree offer from upenn.

Last I heard he was a hardcore hunter living up in Montana.
Still just as disillusioned as every about the phoniness of the bodybuilding world and how much of a dead end road it is for many people.
I think his dad was some famous blue blood Ivy League professor or author. Something like that.

I have a University degree...means nothing.
-
self obsession dressed up as discipline
Discipline can come just as much from self obsession as from altruism. But that DOES NOT make it laziness.
-
true but perhaps laziness is less damaging than self obsession
Yes, that gets to "philosophy" of life. An obese couch potato may be content and maybe even good for those around him. An obsessed accomplished bodybuilder probably is not especially content (with exceptions) and possibly very bad for many around him. But which one would most of us rather be?

Princeton is really a good university with good academic environment. They don't have business school and law school to earn money. Better than red and blue university!

I dont agree, some were born to kick foot balls or punch people, some were born to be academic, its a rarity to be both...
Only footballers I can think of are frank lampard and Grayham lesaux..

Elite athletes don't get the opportunity to prove it out.
Once athletic talent like that is identified, the training and such becomes all consuming.
They are like any other subset of humanity - some are smart, some are not.

Watch Last Chance U to see the academic prowess of most of these guys.
I once sat on a train from Birmingham to London and in the seats next to me were Wayne Rooney, David James and Michael Owen. Owen is a bit smarter and looked bored. Wayne looked confused and James spent most of the time talking about footballer eating habits. Like how many bites it too someone to eat an apple.
