Post by: Henda on December 22, 2016, 02:30:41 PM
Anyone catch the wsm Giants live the other day? Saddler was back competing after several years off They talked about his kidney transplant and how he's able to return to competing, he looked good just like his old self but fuck knows if it's wise returning to compete again at such high level

At least he knows how to rock a black tshirt for sat night, anabollicko should take note..

YES i see that also -- I'm surprised to see him competing again
and carrying that much bodyweight -

As for his Kidney transplant & the likely hood of him using Gear
again - it i hope dosent  sound a good thing to do --
of course he may have got the ok from the medical team...Very Doubtful.

I remember him standing out from the other strongmen because of his height. He looked like a child compared to Terry Hollands and a few of the others. He was lightning fast though.

He used to train at Bodyworks Gym in Harrogate (still there, but called something else these days), we're similar in age, he was juicing back when we were late teenagers / early twenties.

If I blew my kidneys that would be the end of gear for me, trt perhaps at the very least.. Are you still powerlifting?

I'll likely compete in bodybuilding in 2017, won the Irish power lifting a few times so not much more to do there. Fuck it I'm in this for the long run, kidneys or no kidneys

I don't think I knew he'd had a kidney transplant. I did wonder why he was working behind the scenes rather than competing. Guess I just thought he was sticking to the 105kg category.

Like a few of you guys have said, it's a British institution at Christmas time.

Stumpy ?  Yes I think he won it twice.  And won European powerlifting titles. It was great seeing him and Pro Universe Eddie Ellwood competing in Britain's Strongest man along with Glen Ross back around 2000-2002. In the 90's we had Gary Taylor who won WSM after competing in Olympics in weightlifting and placing second to Dorian at the British Bodybuilding championships.  It was fun seeing guys from other disciplines (like WSM Svend Karlson former bodybuilder) come into strongman whereas today they all appear similar and its rare to see ex bodybuilders competing.  Still enjoying watching it on channel 5 mind you.

Steve brooks did the opposite   tore him self to fuck in WSM then switched to bodybuilding and won a few titles in NABBA

All us Brit guys were brought up on WSM, It was the Gary Taylor/ svend karlson type physique that i used to aspire to

It is also a total disregard to the donor, the blessing of beeing healthy and beeing alive in general.

What a waste for such a precious transplanted organ. One would think he'd learn something from coming close to death's door.

The most important aspect.
