I am sick of my wife buying movies on xfinity on-demand, plus I want to watch the new star wars. I can buy the fire stick with kodi pre-downloaded for like $100, or I can buy the regular fire stick for $40 and download kodi myself. Does anyone want to talk me through the download process? Thanks.

How does the firestick work? ??? ??? I have Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO NOW. If I buy the firestick, how do my account get uploaded onto the firestick? ??? ??? ???

You can have the firestick boot in to amazons customised android, there you will have the apps for netflix, prime, hbo etc, and then you can manually select kodi, or you can have your stick boot straight in to kodi each time you turn it on.Kodi has plugins for amazon orime and netflix anyway.Seems funny seeing it blow up now, been using it for 15 years now, strange how people are suddenly noticing it.

firestick is tied to amazon and 1GB ram, not worth it unless you will be using Amazon Prime paid subscription and you can put up with buffering.
Get something that is neutral, an android box with android version 6 and at least 8GB ram. http://www.gearbest.com/tv-box-mini-pc/pp_462432.html (http://www.gearbest.com/tv-box-mini-pc/pp_462432.html)
download kodi from Google Play, then load Exodus add on
OR do you have a laptop that you can connect HDMI to tv? then download kodi from kodi website, then load Exodus add on

Yeah, not enough memory.

A "Firestick" is an Intel Compute Stick Atom...a miniature PC that you put in the HDMI input of your tv and control with a Bluetooth keyboard.

I personally use it a Firestick. For movies/TV shows I personally use Exodus (for more info check out this list). For Documentaries, Sports, Catch Up TV, Kids Section I use the Dogs Bollocks addon. Sportsdevil is a must-have addon for any sports enthusiasts like me. Resource https://www.firestickhow.com/kodi-addons.html It describes the best addons with guidelines on how to install them. Those are the best Kodi Addons that are 100% currently working.

I dropped the cable over 3 years ago and had never regretted my decision. I watch sports mostly and for this purpose Firestick (loaded with Kodi addons) works the best. I use Mobdro as a backup app in case I can't find the football stream through the usual Add Ons. It's also got a dope section of shows where it plays episodes on shuffle. No issues and totally meets all my needs. To bypass geoblocking issues, I use VPN by link (https://www.firesticktricks.com/best-vpn-kodi.html)
