Title: Why have ornaments?
Post by: Darren Avey on January 05, 2017, 08:44:35 AM
Why do people spend so much on ornaments? £100s of pounds if not more on something you ll look at for 10 seconds after you've bought it and put it where you want it then never really notice it again! Same with paintings and shit on the wall!

Why do people have gimmick accounts on a bodybuilding forum? I mean why spend all the time creating a false persona, stealing a strangers pics and posting them as your own, when youll never meet anyone here? Who are you trying to impress?

Humans r creative beings, recognizing aesthetic form.  Even the most primitive subhumans have been known to craft knick knacks and scribble shit on their walls.

I've been to see the Lever house, it's very impressive.  You can't get a sense of its sheer size in photos, it's massive in real life.  Flooding from the nearby river has threatened it and they're deliberating what to do in order to preserve it

This picture of LeverHouse just after it was built in context with the 1800's syle buildings that surrounded it.  It must have been exceptionally striking as it was the only glass curtain building in New York at the time.

Back when you were a child they carved pictures of Wooly Mammoths  on cave walls.
Early man had no need for frivolous bobbles.  :D
