I was flipping through the channels and on ESPN 2 was the DRL. Drone Racing League. A bunch of fat shits wearing goggles racing drone planes through hoops in a warehouse. WTF!

This is also a Sport.
Great commentary.

This could be a 10 page thread.

Bodybuilding is a sport but there are some things mr olympia needs to do to take away all doubts, they need to make the bodybuilders wear a sash with their names on it they need to give the winner a crown and roses and you need to have a representative from each country, mr usa, mr canada etc if this is done nobody can ever deny that its a sport.

in all fairness they call it an esport and they dont try to make actual comparisons to proper sports like bodybuilding does

ESPN is a business so they will aire things that people will watch even if it doesn't fit the description of a sport. They have kids spelling bee, poker and predetermined pro wrestling. I guess drones are in right now.

At the risk of breaking with getbig tradition and actually answering a question in this section legitimately, I'm guessing the difference is that 'sport' as it is loosely defined involves a competition where some physical performance (not necessarily that of the athlete solely or at all) is the pass/fail or marker. Which is why motorsport gets the nod, since it's still a competitive achievement to be the first across the line. And shit like that.
No doubt, bodybuilders are athletes and train as hard/long as is consistent with maximal results, but the contest itself is judged on aesthetics, not a physical performance as such.
Pro wrestling is a weird one, the results are a fix, of course, but it's no small thing to get in the ring and actually do that shit, I think it was Ken Shamrock who said he got far more injuries training/competing in wrestling than MMA.

They call chess and poker a sport.

ESPN is a dying business so they are desperate to air things that they think losers will watch even if it doesn't fit the description of a sport. They have kids spelling bee, poker and predetermined pro wrestling and the hot dog eating contest. I guess drones are in right now.
Fixed.

Bodybuilding is a type of beauty contest.
-
In my country you have to pay standard vehicle registration fees like for a car,if you want to use one of these stupid shitty drones.
-
I always wondered where 240 went.

Bodybuilding is a pageant, not a sport. The competitors are athletes though.
-
Cheerleading is now a provisional Olympic sport.

Though when doing the athletic part, they're not competing.

I think bodybuilding is a sport, yes subjective but so is gymnastics, diving, etc.

Except they're using athletic ability to compete against each other.
In bodybuilding, they are not even judged for posing anymore, only how they look on the stage.

Deciding winnners pageants is subjective. What decides a winner in sports is not subjective. Bodybuilding is not a sport.

I play a lot of Clash Royale and there are many more guys there sponsored by Nova Mobile than any bodybuilders will be. Make more off their YouTube channels to.

You can thank the dipshits that watched poker on ESPN , that's what opened the door for the rest of this crap.
On a side note the Egaming leagues, video games to those that don't know, pay very well, there's billions of dollars in that industry. Lots of camera men and audio guys will work those shows over others because of the pay.
