YES!
but......Its a rare Finnish capture (and hence re-worked as the Finns did) M-91 with all matching numbers and the ultra rare- (2) on the roller-coaster sight which the Finns put there in only a few examples.  I was told it was a gift to Lauri Torni by Baron Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim but am trying to track down documentation for it.

Speaking of Russia, if Trump eliminates all Russian sanctions, which I think will happen, we will see a lot of interesting firearms making their way over here.  Can't wait.

I find Tula to actually be pretty clean despite the myth that goes around saying that it isn't or that it will lead to a sticky bolt.  I actually like it better than Surplus.  Then again it probably does not matter as I clean immediately, even if just one round goes through it that day.

I wonder what the price would be on Tula if sanctions were lifted.  :o

Tula steel cases run fine if the extractor is built for it. The extractor on the M4 platform is pretty lame compared to the mighty AK extractor. That said, I don't mind running steel through any gun.

Same here.  The actual physics of Polymer Coated Steel just don't match up with what people "believe" happens or is going to happen.  Nothing wrong at all with using FMJ in any gun.

Never have used a thing in my life, never had any health issues of any kind my entire life.

I was obese there if you want the truth.  Totally deceptive picture.  If I were to take my shirt off then, I would just look like a fat mess.  I would have needed to wade in a pool chest deep to fool people into thinking I was not a fat mess.

Now, I can take my shirt off with abs, striations and look way bigger at around 170 lbs.  Maybe we need to start the old Mr. Getbig back up again so I can win it again.  :D

Interesting conversation here..... mainly due to the fact that some GetBiggers appear to be experts in the identification of various firearms.

I carried a pistol on my hip and a rifle over my shoulder for a good number of years in an earlier lifetime and could field-strip any weapon handed to me in a matter of seconds, but today I'd have problems identifying a howitzer from a pistol (almost).

ADONIS and others .... Can you inform me of the significance and importance of this Mosin-Nagant?

And why am I kind of recalling M-1919 A1? Or was it 1922 A1?

There's a damn good reason the Mauser action or modifications of it is still in use by nearly every successful bolt gun. I would love a proper German made early or pre war K98K. The nice ones are so expensive though, and I don't buy low grade anything..

Install a telescopic sight. There are numerous options available now for adding one. It doesn't have to be a high magnification one either. Basically you want a method of sighting the rifle without using the garbage factory irons. Its a high velocity rifle with a pretty long barrel and bolt action mechanism, so it has good potential to be an accurate weapon based on that alone. Pick up a curved bolt handle while your at it too.

Fix it with a screwdriver.... Us they're mil surplus.  With my C & R license I could get a case of them paxhes in saqsuat and Greece for about $40ea. They all shoot but not exactly accurate. I wouldn't trust a 200yd shot at a buck.

Finding decent 7.62x54 ammo isn't easy and stripper-clips bend.

Sell'em to gun shops all day for $70 all day and they'll Sell'em for $90-110 depending on the condition of the stock... Plus the broad (or lack thereof) sucks.

That being said, I believe the most prolific sniper in hisrory used one with iron sights. Finnish fella I believe against Russians... In the winter no less.

True that. However there is something about the Mauser that the Mosin will never have and that is real collectability. Third Reich memorabilia is gold these days and a luger or mauser is top of the heap for many collectors. Plus let's be honest, the mauser is a better rifle in terms of quality and operation.

You fix Soviet weapons' sights with a hammer, you replace the trigger with a bent nail.
