my favourite movie of all time

X2!

We never see, and I'm afraid ever will see, this type acting and story line and everything, in movies today.

I can count the number of moments I got goose bumps and chills watching this movie.

The safe robbery in Thief is one of my favorites -

.

As is "The Dog Way Melody" -

.

Always appreciated Steve Prince's salesmanship in this scene from Taxi Driver -

.

He actually had a full length movie made about him by Scorsese here -

.

You sorta need to see it on a big screen, but the sheriff's death scene from "Pat Garrett and Billy, The Kid" always get me -

.

Also the shootout from "The Getaway" is always great, that film has a lot of great scenes to offer -

.

Also The Grifters's scene with Bobo and the oranges -

.

There are two others that come to mind, but I can't find clips of -

The poker robbery scene from a little known Duvall film called "The Outfit". It's based on the old Parker novels, and the interplay between him and character actor Tim Carey (as a middle level mob soldier) is pretty good.

Also the whole robbery set up from 1956's "The Killing" is a masterpiece.

Also, even though they're not scenes, but full movies, these two little exploitation flicks from the late 70's, early 80's are awesome, and filled with memorable stuff  -

Vice Squad -

.

Wings Hauser as a country western obsessed pimp, named Ramrod, who spends the whole film dodging cops, and tracking down a hooker that can put him in prison. It's got a hard edge to it, but also that 80's campiness that's always fun.

Fight For Your Life -

.

William Sanderson (Deadwood's E.B Farnum) stars as a racist redneck escapee that takes a black religious family hostage, and forces them to do his bidding. Really campy and rough even for a 70's grindhouse movie, but hilarious at the same time. This probably couldn't get made now.

Some great stuff here. Thanks, ya'll !

Actors/actresses are amazing critters. A couple in my own family can become someone I've never experienced before, while I'm always just myself when a camera turns on.

Gotta add this ... One of my nephews has three year old twins and he always prepares for a scene by becoming that person as that person is supposed to appear on screen.

He does this at home for a few days before that scene is shot and without failure the twins always end up crying ... saying, "I want my daddy back!"

That's gotta be Acadamy Award stuff!

Dustin Hoffman told Laurence Olivier that he stayed up for two days to play his role alongside him in the dentist scene (Is it safe) in "Marathon Man" , Olivier turned to him and said "Have you ever tried acting dear boy"

While not a film scene, this is a fun little thing someone put together. When you click "watch on Youtube", there's a list of the films the scenes are from under the video -
