Powering the 2018 Lexus LS is a new 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, developed through the company's F1 technology, offering V8-level power without sacrificing fuel economy - while also minimizing noise and vibration. Total output sits at 415 HP and 442 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque, allowing for a projected 0-60 mph (96 km/h) acceleration time of just 4.5 seconds in RWD configuration.
The new LS also debuts the first-ever 10-speed automatic transmission for a premium passenger car.

customers are offered the choice between a new 3.6-liter V6 or an Ecotec 2.0-liter inline-four. The V6 delivers 305 hp at 6,800 rpm and 260 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque at 2,800 rpm while the smaller 2.0-liter makes do with a still-respectable 255 hp and 295 (400 Nm) at 3,000 rpm. 2018 F150
The most substantial addition to the F-150 lineup is the arrival of a new 3.0-liter Power Stroke diesel engine, which ought to help Ford fend off advances from the likes of the Ram 1500 with its EcoDiesel engine.
The gasoline-burning EcoBoost engines – available in 2.7- and 3.5-liter displacements – have also been refined, as has the standard 3.3-liter V6, which is expected to offer the same 282 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque as the outgoing version, but with improved fuel efficiency. Even the 5.0-liter V8 has been refined, and they all come mated to a segment-first ten-speed automatic transmission.

I am not a fan of Lexus's front end. I went to the auto show in Indianapolis a week ago. There wasn't much there, no concepts at all. I want to drive up to the Detroit show one year.
-
That F-150 is going to be awesome when I pay 15k for one in 5 years with 60k on the clock. 50-60k new ain't gonna happen.

Notice the small Diesel that's being offered on the F150 (3.0 liters). Why not a 3.5 or 4.0 liter so you can tow some serious weight. They don't want to step on the F250's toes and give people a more affordable option.

Ranger and Bronco Return
Ford is bringing back the Ranger midsize pickup truck to its North American vehicle lineup in 2019 and Bronco midsize SUV to its global vehicle portfolio in 2020. Both vehicles will be manufactured at Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Michigan.
“We’ve heard our customers loud and clear. They want a new generation of vehicles that are incredibly capable yet fun to drive,” said Joe Hinrichs, Ford’s president of The Americas. “Ranger is for truck buyers who want an affordable, functional, rugged and maneuverable pickup that’s Built Ford Tough. Bronco will be a no-compromise midsize 4×4 utility for thrill seekers who want to venture way beyond the city.”

When a V6 can accelerate a car this big to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, do you need a V8? The V8 is on it's way out. Although It will still be offered by some companies (Mercedes, BMW), most will realize it's an unnecessary expense.

wow, the LS has always been a Big car, didn't see this coming with a V6...the 2018 model looks a bit slim as well.....I like the new rounded tail end

The new Bronco will not look like that render. It and the new Ranger will be out in 2019/20.
And watch the new Supra get a version of the Lexus engine

Actually at my age a two door SUV seems like a bad idea. No back seat? If so two doors would suck

Notice the small Diesel that's being offered on the F150 (3.0 liters). Why not a 3.5 or 4.0 liter so you can tow some serious weight. They don't want to step on the F250's toes and give people a more affordable option.
The ecodiesel is not being made to tow heavy, they are being made to get great fuel mileage. The RAM 1/2 ton is the only small diesel right now and it's getting all the market share. If I was doing a fleet of service trucks that would be my choice.
Even though new 1/2 ton trucks have a higher GVWR than older 3/4 tons you still need the right tool to tow heavy. I've occasionally towed a bobcat or a tow behind crane lift with my V8 F-150 - but If you have a 5th wheel full of horses to haul or a 35ft camper on the interstate you better have the money for a proper truck to haul it.
-
That's not what the new Bronco is goint to look like? Why not?
It's a render that was done by someone and it's been floating around. People also speculated that the Bronco would be based on the Ford Everest, which is not a US model.
-
The new Bronco will never look that cool and neither will the new Jeep pickup. Crash and bumper height standards add the fugly factor.

In Europe a diesel car is normally about 1000 usd more expensive than a gas one. I don't understand why diesel pick up trucks are what, 5 to 10,000 usd more expensive than gas powered ones?

Profits margins on small cars are just a few hundred bucks.
On large simple ladder frame SUV's and pickup trucks profit margins are immense, often more than 10,000 usd
