They'll go to the women for men sections but it's not the same. This will affect business alot nationwide. They won't run to Craigslist either.

If what they're doing is illegal I have no issue with the government stepping in.  I'm sure these people will just find another way to get around it.

x2 for someone who never heard of this website.

I know that Craiglist is considered the last ditch resort resort for people it seems.  Most legit sites like Match.com or MadisonAshley  tend to pull in the people seeking normal encounters and hook ups.  Craigslist always seemed to be the "2am, just applied herpes cream, dug up my couch money, meet me at Taco Bell" type of crowd.

Just people looking to set up sleazy fuck time and potential robberies on others.

This Backpage is worse?

Sex site trafficked in minors but removed underage terms, Senate says

Backpage.com, the largest sex-services classified ads page on the web, pulled down the adult section of its site on Monday night after a stunning Senate report accused the company of knowingly allowing ads for sex-trafficked young children.
The company said it was the target of an anti-First Amendment crusade by members of Congress, but an 18-month Senate investigation said the wildly profitable company has long been hoodwinking police by claiming to weed out illegal ads — while instead merely sanitizing them.

Investigators say the company would receive ads offering sexually charged encounters and would delete the words “Lolita,” “young,” “teen” and “little girl” — which, according to documents released by the Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, the company knew were code for underage girls.

After cleaning the offending words through the use of an automatic filter, the company would still run the rest of the ad.

I never understand why the government meddle in people's affairs like that, if two consenting adults decide to exchange money for sex why would that bother anybody its not affecting your life in no shape or form.

Doesn't matter Wiggs.  Backpage has been dead for a few months now.  A bunch of LE postings trying to catch people.  Luckily I found some good whores a while back that I still see so I don't need BP anymore.

Well I am not familiar with the story but that post a few above you talk about basically turning a blind eye to trafficked humans whilst scrubbing a few keywords.

This does not appear to be limited to consenting adults by any stretch of the imagination.

Saw this the other day, not happy  >:(

Sadly the children will be hurt most as backpage was a top way for law enforcement to find underage victims and arrest their pimps. Now it will be more difficult.

Ah! Escorts!

I thought people were using that Craigslist for Escorting though?

Isnt it easy for those people that used Backpage to move their business to Craigslist? Or did they raise the security on Craigslist regarding this?

Craigslist has escorts as well (.... or so I hear  :'( ) but in the case of backpage they have been accused of knowingly allowing underage child traffickers to post ads.
