I thought Obama wanted open borders, and sanctuary cities and states to protect illegal aliens?

It sucks for the folks who paid their life savings to the traffickers, but that's it, the loophole is closed. Relations with Cuba are normalizing and there's no need for that policy. Why wouldn't they stay in a South American country where they already speak the language?
