This one and the last Resident Evil. I am somewhat embarrassed to say I love those movies, but I do.

I don't like others of that genre but Milla Jovovich fits the role well.

My wife actually got me into those a while back. She had them on dvd when we got together and we watched them. Great flicks. I was reluctant because they were based on a video game but they are very entertaining.

Considering Prometheus was pretty bad, I won't be "fuck yes"ing until I've seen him turn it around.  Action / visuals were fine.  Script was bad.  Very bad.  Compared to Alien or Aliens, that movie was absolute utter fucking shite when it came to not treating the audience like idiots.

Movies I anticipate, though am naturally cautious about, given that they are sequels to some of the greatest pieces of cinema of their time:
Blade Runner 2049
Trainspotting 2

Covenant is to Alien what Rogue One was to A New Hope.

Here'a a partial list of some of the planned blockbusters you may be seeing this year.

Lots of repeats and repeats of repeats!

Please add the ones I've overlooked.

Resident Evil - Final Chapter. How many of these were already made?
John Wick 2 ... #1 was a big success and amped his career.
Logo's Batman - Would be interesting to see how it was made.
The Great Wall.  Discover Hollywood's version of why it was built.
Logan - Not a Logan fan. Never met the guy.
KONG - Skull Island ... Family members participated in this one. Will go.
Beauty and the Beast -  Live actor version.
Power Rangers .... Don't know anything about these guys.
Ghost in the Shell ... Attempted to read the book and give up but insiders expect great things from this one.
Star Wars 8 ... Lost interest after the first one, but it makes billions.
It ... Never been a King fan.
Blade Runner ... Good friends were in the first one. For some reason I did not like it, but everyone else did.
Kingsmen  ...Enjoyed the first one.
Friday  the 13th ... Saw the first two and then gave up.
Saw ... Very strange series.
Thor ... Have gotten tired of these super-hero productions but many more are underway.
Justice League ... I know nothing about JL but it's another super-hero flick.
Fast and Furious ... Should be good but not a fan of Vin Diesel at all.
Guardians of the Galaxy .... I think that this one surprised the studios and made all a lot of money.
Aliens - Covenant ... Saw the private screening of the original and was impressed. It received a standing ovation from its peers even though it was not completed.
Pirates of the Caribbean ... Not a Pirates fan at all.
Wonder Woman ...  Looks great but what happened to her glass airplane?
WWZ 2 ... Surprising that they made this one. Zombies still sell it seems.
Despicable Me 3 ... Minions are great people and I enjoyed the  3D effect that they managed to pull off at the ending of the most recent one.  Do these guys got individual names?
Cars 3... Yuck.
Transformers 2017 .  Not a fan but this one looks good.
Spiderman... Not much to say about Spidy. But the upside down kissing scene was pretty cool.
War of the Planet of the Apes ... Family members involved so I'll see it.
Dunkirk ... Will definitely see this one. Looks like Private Ryan opening sequence. My most anticipated movie this year.
Dark Tower ... Gonna read the first book soon. Just loaded it to my Kindle. (PRIME) Ask in a week or so and I'll tell you the story. I do hear that King is liking the results so far.

Might be missing some.

WHICH WILL BE MAJOR HITS? WHICH WILL FLOP? How will Superman be resurrected?  Do the minions have names? Will the Joker beat up Batman? Will Wonder Woman age from 1920 through the present? Will Avatar 2 take place under water? Will Stallone really complete eighth (8) major productions between now and the end of 20128? Etc., Etc., Etc.

Have zero interest in any movies based on superheroes or comic book characters.  Zero interest.

No, KWAN, just Swedish and Irish and a small part American Indian.

The story goes that my great-great-grandmother had a pow-wow in a tee-pee with a Cherokee when she was kid-napped from a wagon train on her way out west many years ago.

But not enough Indian blood to profit financially from the good old US of A.

Are you Chinese?

REDUX, I think I'm the only person in the entire universe who did not like Blade Runner. Gonna give it another try .

SAINT, Same here regarding the Big Mac movie.

Has Shymalan made anything wort.h seeing since his first one where Bruce Willis was actually dead but did not know it?

Did anyone see the Swedish film in which the family was involved in an avalanche while staying in a fancy ski resort hotel?

I enjoy seeing a movie after reading the book that that movie is based  on.

So I have heard that THE BLACK TOWER: THE GUN SLINGER is going to be a major movie when it is released, so I finished reading it last nite and even though Stephen King's books are held in high esteem world-wide .... I failed to find out what the acclaim is all about.

I've read a couple of his other books and in each case (including The Black Tower) I personally think that it takes him way to long to get into the crux of the story and the ending is usually a big disappointment ... especially in Black Tower with the Man In Black's detailed bla-bla-bla about the universe. (Boring enough to make me sleep for the next ten years.)

But it will be interesting to see how it's transposed to the silver screen.

And I have heard that the forthcoming film will end just like the book  .... and if it is a success .... it will continue with Book 2 and on and on through Book 7. (Or is it 8?)

Any Stephen King fans out there?

Should I read 11-22-63 ?
