Post by: dj181 on January 20, 2017, 02:24:22 AM
from 2 and a quarter for 10 to 205 for six  >:( >:( >:(

i've been doing it every 48 hrs though so i guess i gotta cut it back to every 3 or 4 days, 1 week is to long for me and i lose the groove/feel of the exercise

and on a side note my half squat is up to 2 and a quarter for 10 and i plan to take it up to 3 or even 4 bills for 10

Are you not using any PED's
If so i would say you are not allowing enough recovery time.
And even if you are i'd still think its not enough recovery time.

Why are you doing it every 48 hours? I think your muscles may be fatigued. Give it a full week then try again.

Trying to maintain a peak in strength for too long is detrimental and can make you weaker in the end, my guess is you had been adding weight weekly for a while before this drop in strength, cut back have a few easy workouts and slowly build back up to a new peak.

Doing it too often.  Let your muscles recuperate and heal.  Shouldn't be more frequent than once every 3 days.

Yeah agree - deload weeks are common in strength routines.   They make you feel like you're not doing much, but I've found them effective.

Training frequency & PED's out of system & trying to maintain / increase peak strength
I'd say your needing some rest / slightly lighter - less intense workouts for a couple of weeks
maybe 60/70% of max weight - then start over with at least 72/96 hrs rest between workouts.

You have a very serious strength imbalance in your body weak glutes and legs only strong muscle is the pecs only a matter of time before you are injured.

my legs are weak coz I had 2 knee injuries from basketball that required 2 surgeries and my left quad and calf are permently smaller than the right

the only reason I give a fuck about it now is that I see having leg strength and stability is very important for moving and even generating punching power in boxing

punching power is a complicated move and requires strength power from your knee, hip, shoulder, elbow and wrist

I got good power from my shoulder, and elbow, and decent from my hip and wrist, but my knee is not as stable strong and therefore its the weak link, so I gotta strength it up and stablize it more and that's why I'm doing these damn squats, but I don't wanna gain much more weight, 5 pounds max

goal is close grip three bills for 6 and half squat 4 bills for 10 all while weighing a buck 70 max

I've found isometric holds on their own, or doing front squats with a three second pause at the bottom was effective for fixing issues.  I had broken my kneecap in half, but not learned about it until 6 months after a few years back.   Those two things were part of my rehab.

IMO, much more effective than just trying to do half reps with heavy weight.

When I did them with the front squat, it was three seconds at the botton.

Also, hold a lunge on a slightly elevated platform for 30 sec per leg x 3

Narcissistic personality disorder - Mayo Clinic
www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/narcissistic.../definition/con-20025568
Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for admiration and a lack of empathy for others. But behind this mask of ultraconfidence lies a fragile self-esteem that's vulnerable to the slightest criticism

basically everyone on get big

As a student of Mentzer and Jones you should know this. If nutrition and training intensity is consistent and you are getting enough sleep then that would indicate your tris are not recovering sufficiently from your workouts and over training. Before your tris have recovered you are hitting it again. You keep breaking it down and never giving it a chance to build up.

yep, there's something to that, but if I only train an exercise once a week I lose the groove of the exercise, basically my skill at performing the lift is lessened

I can go 3 or 4 days and keep my groove, but after 7 days or so my skill at the lift lessens

yep, there's something to that, but if I only train an exercise once a week I lose the groove of the exercise, basically my skill at performing the lift is lessened

Losing the "skill" of doing a simple movement in seven day does not comport with common sense. Riding a bicycle or driving a stick shift is far more complex but once you learn those skills it stays with you.

Besides, adapting to a movement often triggers the adaptation response. Doing the same exercise week after week, month after month, often is the reason for stagnation.
If you lose fine motor skills in such a short time then it would seem to your body it is encountering a new stress variation and your triceps might respond better to this new adaption response.

not easy, all out effort was required, til failure basically

AJ might have been proud

if I get up to 3 plates while weighing less than a buck 70 then that will be ELITE STATUS  8)

Take my "advice" with a huge grain of salt...
strip off one wheel and use 1 plate a side for very high reps(30+) 4 days a week.

I'm curious what purpose it serves? Size or strength or something else? I don't want any more size but I do want more strength

Size.
Didn't know that you're only into gaining strength - then, of course, blowing yourself up is not on your agenda..
You should still run a maintenance routine for the joints - maybe tricep extensions with a pair of 10's or so for high reps 5 days a week...

thanks for the feedback bro

think this advice bout alternating between focus on squat til I stagnate then shift focus to bench is the best for me, so now I'll focus on the squats maybe til I hit 140,kg for 6, now I'm at 115 kg for 5

I'm natty now, been so for bout 10 weeks now

yeah I best go to twice a week

best mimics a straight punch
You are weird. You could do close hand push ups and get better stamina. Or better yet, just train for boxing, instead of mimicing a straight arm punch. Also, every 48 hours? Who does that?

I train boxing 5 days a week bro

the weight training is to increase joint and muscle strength not for size gaining

I train just about every fucking day twice a day, and sometimes even 3 tomes a day

I also do cross shit with kettle bell and medicine ball work

Uhhh   ::)  when I was powerlifting and had national record squat & bench
It didn't seem to hold me back.

Load of Nonsense-  Just Train hard & intensely- Eat - Rest - Grow

Maybe I do too much at once. My bench and upper bodyresponds better if I lay off the squats and deads.

Who would prescribe more squats and lower body work if your upper body is getting worse?

that's true and I wont deny it, something to prove to others and myself

my uncles called me a weak f@g and I think I'm a pussy coz I didn't try and stop my step father from pointing a gun to my mothers head when I was 10 years old

the best compliment I've ever gotten is when my boxing coach who is a heavyweight that's practiced boxing for 15 years told me that I'm a brave guy when I stood on sparring with him and took his shots, but I'm still not brave and tough and strong enough, but that's my issue/cross to bear

get a job you lazy piece of freeloading shit..

fair enough, I have an inheritance that I'm been living off of but I know I should work more, so I'm working on pushing myself to do so
