Think you probably nailed it.
Also, Doors, Creedence, Crowes, and Pearl Jam. Rival Sons, eventually.

If you consider them 'rock', I would have to say The Allman Brother's Band. Either the original lineup prior to Duane's passing, or the early 90's unit that included Warren Haynes and Allen Woody on the bass. They were superb, such outstanding musicianship! Not to mention the greatest white blues singer of all time, Gregg Allman.
Duane Allman, Dickie Betts, Warren Haynes & Derek Trucks are all universally recognized as some of the greatest guitar players of All-time, with Trucks and Allman always being near the top.

Good choices, but 10th Avenue Freeze-Out is his best song IMO.

Guess I considered Bruce more of a solo deal, and folksy. Like Dylan and Neil Young, maybe, I don't know. But yeah, up there with the best. "Thunder Road," "Badlands," and "The River" for me. And "Better Days."
Just so many. Hell, "Born in the U.S.A." still gives me chills sometimes.

Absolutely.
But if we're including metal-types, gotta add Tool, Soundgarden, Alice, even Rage.

Wasn't the JHE an American band?

Then there's the pre-1978 (with Terry Kath) Chicago. Jimi thought they were great.

Trash metal, I wouldn't have a problem. Their modern rock sound is weak.
