CBS News WASHINGTON -- Most of the approximately 230 protesters arrested on Inauguration Day will be charged with felony rioting, federal prosecutors said.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said the offense is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. The office said most of those arrested will be released without having to post bail and must return to court in February.
A first group of 10 men appeared in Superior Court just before 3 p.m., and their lawyer entered a not guilty plea on their behalf. A judge released all of them on the condition they not get re-arrested in the District of Columbia.
Interim D.C. police chief Peter Newsham said Friday that 217 people were being charged with rioting.
The arrests took place in a four-block stretch of downtown Washington around the time of President Trump’s swearing-in ceremony.
The arrests came after some protesters created chaos. Windows of downtown businesses were smashed, and police deployed pepper spray and “sting balls” against the crowd.

Most of the 250,000-400,000 people yesterday protested in a non-violent manner. About 250 idiots broke the law and should be treated as criminals.
I do think this Administration will handle BLM type riots in a completely different way then Obama and Holder did. Equal rights doesn't mean yelling, screaming, and stomping your feet in a temper tantrum until you get your own way based on the color of your skin, sexual orientation, or genitalia

i think they should take the cost of the damage from these 217 motherfuckers and make them share the cost to fix the shit the fucked up , if it was 1.5 millon they all pay 6912 each to replace the peoples shit they fucked up if not they should be made to work for them for the cash .....most the people will stop doing this stupid shit if they have to pay up ................

If they get charged and fined, I wonder if any of that money will go to fixing up the stores. Or, will the government just use the money to fill their greedy pockets.
I do hope that any fines they pay should go to fixing up the stores and community. But I suspect that the government will put find other "things" to do with the money. ::) ::) ::)
