Title: Mary Tyler Moore dies
Post by: pellius on January 25, 2017, 11:47:03 AM
Those from my generation remember those days. How TV was back then.

One by one that generation is fading fast.

Such its life.

That sucks

I have been lurking through old tv shows from my childhood lately, just watching random episodes, last night was All In The Family

Remember Mary Tyler Moore, my mom used to love that, my dad probably watched hoping Mary would flash some bush

Sometimes I just don't have anything to say and, unlike Howard, I just don't say anything.

BTW, I agreed with Fallview with you being the top poster of the year. You remind me of how the board use to be during it's prime.

Ordinary People is one of my favorite movies.  It really showed her acting ability.  I'm impressed with every performance in this movie.

No...It was the plot of the movie that she never bonded with her son...Played by Timothy Hutton.

I am older than most on here, but still only 1/2 of Wes's age. But I used to jack the skin right off the head thinking of her in those '60's yoga pants she wore when I was a little cranker.

'Killer lineup' on CBS ruled the '70s

When people talk about Saturday night TV, the discussion almost always comes back to CBS' lineup in the early- to mid-'70s, when as many as five classics shared the same evening. From 1972 to 1975, All in the Family, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show and The Carol Burnett Show were Saturday neighbors, with M*A*S*H in the lineup for the 1973 season. All in the Family was TV's top-rated show during those years, with Moore's sitcom often in the top 10.

I watched them all back then too.  I remember my grandmother and other older family members loving all these shows.  When I heard the Carol Burnett music, it was time for bed... I still feel that when I hear it.
