Title: *Split*: M Night Shyamalan
Post by: Royalty on January 28, 2017, 03:55:43 PM
I saw it today. I thought that it was very good. Interesting. Great acting by the main character. It had a good ending and I recommend seeing it.

It's not really a twist ending. But a good ending.

It is clearly a loosely based movie about Tbombz,  M Night Shyamalan should be ashamed of himself

Thought the same thing. After his first two movies you were always waiting for the twist. This one is just a pretty good movie. I saw it last weekend and thought it to be a decent flick.

You think? I did watch the first 10 minutes and then thought do I really want to waste my time on anymore of this guys movies, so I switched it off. I didn't realise it was one of his until I started watching.

Sixth sense was a great movie, the twist was totally unexpected, unbreakable didn't reach the levels of that film, but I thought it was decent and I enjoy it more with each viewing.
Lady in the water was so bad I left the cinema early, the only time I've ever done that.

I hated "the visit". Mainly because for some reason a lot of movies try and have a really stupid character in it that is supposed to be funny. The main boy in there ruined it totally. He was terrible.

This "Split" one looks good. He hasn't done a good one in awhile. "The happening" had the worst ending ever and destroyed the movie. "Lady in the lake" was awful. Personally did not like "Signs" as it became childish once you could see the cartoon aliens. Did not mind "Devil" or "The Village". "Village" was more of a drama then anything else. They presented that poorly by all of the previews presenting it as being an extremely scary movie. It wasn't so thats why I think people may not like it as much. Going in expecting something and getting another story all together.

True, except for Devil it was pretty good. This was good, Macavoy does a great job in it. There is going to be a sequel tying Split into Unbreakable.

I heard there's an unbreakable reference near the end. They were meant to do an unbreakable sequel years ago with Willis in full vigilante superhero mode. Could've worked if they'd still kept it real feel.
Do you know how they'd tie the 2 movies together

The kids lisp was so annoying.  I liked the young 18 year old actress, cute as heck.  Pedo of peace.

Willis is in the last scene in the movie. Not quite sure how M. Night is going to do it. Have to google it see what comes up.

Just watching now, Macavoy doing a great job.
Overall though pretty slow, long drawn out, mostly talking the whole way through. Best bit was the end and what could potentially lead to a good sequel if done right

Saw it but was very forgetful.  Can't even remember what Willis' character was. Wasn't he like a superhero in a wheelchair?

Ugh.  That photo reminds me that  I bought and watched "Suicide Squad".  Throughout the entire film I kept wondering if it really was as bad as I thought or was I just tired.

I watched it again the next day.  Yup.  It sucked.

Did you feel he was too old to play such a young character?
