Title: NFL Super Bowl Ad by GNC is rejected - because they are prohibited
Post by: Ron on January 30, 2017, 05:49:29 PM
Looks like GNC and other nutritional stores are listed as prohibited companies with the NFL... so no ad for them... wow

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2017/01/30/gnc-super-bowl-51-commercial-rejected/97262812/

A 30-second commercial that was scheduled to air during the first quarter of the Super Bowl has been rejected by the NFL amid questions from USA TODAY Sports about how the advertisement squares with the league’s policy regarding banned substances.

The NFL tests players only one time a year before a season even starts. This not allowing the ad thing is ridiculous.

The NFL tests players only one time a year before a season even starts. This not allowing the ad thing is ridiculous.

According to NFL Senior Vice President Adolpho Birch in an interview conducted by Lori Nickel of the Journal Sentinel:

"During the season we test in the neighborhood of 350 a week. Ten players, per team, per week. Plus other players who are tested because they’re under reasonable cause. That’s from the first preseason game all the way until the Super Bowl. After that, an individual player can be tested up to, a maximum, of six times in the offseason. We do a quarter or more of our testing during that offseason program just from an effectiveness standpoint. You have to monitor the offseason in order to be effective."

If the NFL does not care about players getting concussions and lifelong brain damage do you really think they are trying to stomp out PED's?

Take the red pill already!

That thing has been tanking! They waited way too long to change their model and continued to sling snake oil to grandmas and high schoolers while vitamin shoppe and internet stores ate their lunch. A dinosaur in the supplement industry.

Ok, maybe with the more prominent players in the league. I have 7 in now with probably 2-3 more going this year, all have been tested once just at the start of the season. Cushing was caught I think at the beginning of his first season, and numerous others caught for recs, again at the beginning.

The outcome of the Superbowl is more scripted than a title match at Wrestlemania

I see. So that interception a couple of years ago in the Seattle/Pats game with seconds left was scripted...got it.

I think you're right in that every player has to submit for a drug test at the beginning of the season, but plenty of players get suspended for PEDs during the middle of the season as well....There were 10 players that got suspended for PEDs in November 2016 alone.

Isn't the NFL going to have the fag-rap, historically incorrect, anti-American, Broadway "musical," Hamilton, as half time "entertainment?"

Don't forget all of the Viagra ads.  They claim the commercials are family friendly.  Nothing as family friendly as a 50 year old chick lying in a bed talking about how to keep your cock hard to fuck her.

Just like what happened with Radio Shack...once a brand people could be proud of, now more pathetic that an unemployed fifty year old bodybuilding groupie.

Even if I was going to buy worthless vitamins and fart powder, I'd jus buy it off the Internet way cheaper
