Band of Gypsies....best guitar work ever done by Jimi.

van halen 1,,due to the fact that at that point other than Hendrix nobody heard a guitar sound quite like that before..eddie was unreal and thankfully still a great player after all that drinking and being lost for most of it...

Good choice also.

Oh man so many to choose from.
Skynyrd-Live at the Fox.
Pearl Jam-10
GNR-Appetite For Destruction.
The list for me can go on and on.
...to tough to choose one.

Both are still two of my favorite bands...Hendrix, basically anything he put5out is gold to5me and Van Halen. Women and Children First/Fair Warning I listen to when feeling nostalgic.
I spent many a beer fueled night in my early teens blasting VH, Judas Priest, Sabbath, Ozzy. I can go from some heavy dark metal right into Sinatra or Beethoven in a minute lol...I guess my tastes changed with age.

Hard to say, Master of Puppets is probably my favorite, and maybe even Blood Sugar Sex Magic after that.
But as far as best debut albums of all time, I'd go, in no order:
VH1
Appetite for Destruction
10
So many memorable songs on each album.
As for "Americant" in the thread title - go fuck yourself.

Metallica was brilliant in the beginning, before they went on shit streak after Justice. Death Magnetic was decent, and had a least one epic song. New stuff is good. Not overrated.
PJ's debut album is not overrated - it's excellent. I didn't care much for them after Vs.
Either way, your own thread title was one single album, so overall band performance is irrelevant.

Eddie was very skillful but that's it. All the sounds he made with his guitar sound like some 8yo just hitting the frets as fast as he can.
And Metallica sucks. After how many decades, they've made what, 1 or 2 decent songs? Fail.

His sound sucks. Show me 1 good solo of his that makes you go "damn, I wanna play that on my guitar now".
Compared to Hendrix, Slash, Santana, Gilmour, Clapton... he's a shitkunt.
Just listen to this shit I just looked up for an example..
Exactly what I've been saying and always thought.
It's not music.. just random annoying sounds.
The type of shit an 8yo guitar noob would play.

There are 2 albums responsible for encouraging guitarist to practice their fingers to the bone

2. Blizzard of Oz
After EVH came out he made alot of <70's guitar solos obsolete

Great album. Also Pantera Far Beyond Driven
Vulgar is better than Driven.
-
Everyone has their fave, this is mine...
Every song a guitar rip-fest... (Got this in 1979 (at age 13) when it came out, young getbiggers are now laffing, calling me old, which I am)...
-
Nowadays, we have much embarrasing music, Beiber, other pussies, etc.
1983, we had hard rock ass-kickers, no pussies allowed...
-
Vulgar is better than Driven.
No it's not
-
The Great Southern Trendkill was epic as well. Listen to the outro on Floods... the jamming grooves....damn. Vulgar had some great stuff too, but I prefer the Driven and Trendkill for the crazy heaviness. Remember when Driven came out? The very first track Strength Beyond Strength knocked your fucking head off... At about :50 in, Anselmo yells "I'm bone brain and cock, deep down stronger than all" and then that fucking jamming riff with the ride cymbals kicking in... Love that shit.

So, not going to disagree with this assessment. That album ripped your face off right from the beginning and didn't really let up. Love Slaughtered, Shedding Skin, etc......
But overall, I feel Vulgar is better. The first five songs are all excellent, and if you like heavy, the riff in A New Level is about as good as it gets. Regular People is great, and Hollow's shift is fantastic. All subjective though.
As for lyrics, I always liked:
Then so many times,
You practice in the mirror,
To be just like me,
But you just can't see,
You ain't got the balls, son.
-
rising force too i couldnt believe anyone could play like that when i heard yngwie
even guys like petrucci and gilbert have said yngwie made them rethink their game
the first time i saw yngwie in rising force was in 85' at the oakland day on the green
Can u imagine evh's face when he first heard yngwie play. I bet he said oh fuck

Lol, this makes you wanna grab your guitar and play?
Man this guy makes me cringe and just mad. WTF is that shit? It's not music. That's worse than baseball. So wrong. So bad. Just listen to 2:30 - 3:50 or 5:30 - 7. I'm shocked. Amazed that anyone thinks that sounds good. That spastic kunt just revolts me. Tell me you don't wanna knock him the fuck out at around 2:30 just to shut him the fuck up. You EVH fans remind me of those with foot fetishes. It's just so weird and wrong. Are you all into feet? Serious question.
Guns N' Roses - Greatest Hits is probably the greatest American rock album.
If "Estranged" was included in the album, it would've been the greatest without a doubt.
Anything by The Doors is up there too.
Nirvana was good, but not enough quality songs to be in the same league as The Doors and GnR's...
Same with Pearl Jam.

No. They've made some quality songs.
Also, Gary Clark Jr's "Blak And Blu" album deserves a mention as that has 4-5 quality songs on it. That's 3-4 more quality songs than Metallica has ever made.

My first albums:
Billy Squier "Don't Say No"
Steve Miller Band "Abracadabra"
Pink Floyd "The Wall"
Ozzy Osbourne "Diary of a Madman"
Rick James "Street Songs"
I could be wrong, but I think I bought all of these albums at the same time when my Dad took me to the mall. Looking back, that was pretty heavy shit for a 5 or 6 year old.
My mother was totally freaked out by the Ozzy album. But not my incessant playing of Super Freak.

However, he did not jam one bit.

alive and alive 2 is all i knew as a kid at 10 in 1978 until vh1 then it was bye bye kiss and there followup 'dynasty'lol....most live albums then pumped the crowd sound tenfold to make it more dramatic ,frampton comes alive really mass hysteria every note/riff/word sang ,,alive 2 has same effect and alive,,

Pearl Jam > Aerosmith
No one took Aerosmith seriously back in the day and their lead singer looks like a lady and prefers to pump AC/DC over his own fucking music.
I've always liked Livin' On The Edge tho (ugh).
And ESFitness, GnR's Greatest Hits has umm "more hits" than Appetite For Destruction.
Which means it's better.
Appetite For Destruction doesn't even have NOVEMBER RAIN.
Which means - FAIL.
So can we all agree that GnR's Greatest Hits is the best American rock music album ever made?
Okay fuck this, I'm outta here.

Your PJ hate is misguided, friend (as is your contempt for Metallica). Definitely get points for VH/Aerosmith/Alice - but Pearl Jam is hardrock royalty. As good a debut as any, another couple/few great-to-good records, and a song catalog that rivals anyone since the Beatles.
And live? Forget it. Only Tool and RAtM could match their intensity. I am glad no one's made a case for Nirvana, though. Talk about over-f'n-rated.

Wes was around before we had nations... You know... Back when Pangea was a thing.
So for him, Deep Purple counts.

since i broke my damn foot i've lost nearly 5 pounds in two weeks, and these past two weeks i havent trained squats coz i can't due to the fucking goddman foot >:( >:( >:(
do you think that near 5 pound bodyweight lose came from the stoppage of leg training?
2 nights ago i ate 2 big meals at mickeyd's double quater pounder wit cheese and extra large fry and extra large coke, 2 of each, which is well over 3 grand calories, ate all dat in one sitting 8)

Yes. Doesn't matter how much you ate after you stopped leg/ass training. You'll just shit most of it out. Instead of some of that shit (nutrients) staying in your legs/ass (5lbs worth), it just came out of your ass instead. That's how it works.
I've actually been thinking about making a shit + bodybuilding related thread..
soon.
SOOOON I will get all the girls.

Fake news. Early jazzers invented bad boy rock. Charlie Parker partied himself dead in the 50s. In his 30s.
Rocked his shit more than anyone before or since. Respect.

Muddy Water Band was a bunch of badasses too.

1st album, Rocks, Toys in the Attic, etc... Great stuff...
