Yet Chris Dickerson won the 1982 Mr. Olympia with a torn bicep the same year Tom's was torn and Tom (aside from this torn bicep) was in incredible shape in 1982 (slightly below 1981's shape). Here is Tom in 1982. Also, remember, how many Mr. O's did Dorian win with a torn bicep? ::)

Tom indeed was selling high-end cars several years back. Now, I don't know. Been a while since him and I spoke.
Platz is a passionate guy who bleeds his pursuits. Spirited and gracious fella.
He has suffered some heart issues, I know.
All the best to Tom. He's always been very friendly and accommodating towards me.

By all accounts from so many he was one of the hardest trainers in the gym. Like all of them off the juice he looks less than average without the assist.
