Title: The bodybuilding version of taking a knife to a gun fight.
Post by: Howard on February 10, 2017, 09:14:47 AM
During most of time as a competitive bodybuilding, I used little to no drugs.
Despite this choice, I (mostly) competed in UNtested contests.
Some might think, it was as dumb, as bringing a knife to a gun fight LOL.

You are living in the past brother. You need to go out and persu some new big goals wich has nothing to do with bodybuilding. Start a new business or an education, travel the country in an RV. You are 58, you have a LOT of time to kill between now and death ( I hope). Go out and achieve! You got nothing that is holding you back-> you got time, money and no family/kids. The world is at your feet bro why dont you grab it instead of posting BS on getbig?

Howard, you made the right move... Not much of a future for the thong warriors, except the chosen few like Cheath....
Youre a smart guy (teacher, etc), I may not take marriage advices from you, other than that, you are good brother...

Here's one from the days of public pay toilets:

Here I sit broken hearted.
Paid a dime and only farted. ;D

One of my restroom favorites reads,
Dont sweat the petty stuff
Pet the sweaty stuff

Post up some pics from your last contest

It seems the only bodybuilding stories that end in people contributing in any manner to society is when the bodybuilder quits bodybuilding...

Your posts always seem to not make sense in the details leading me to think you are lying or exaggerating or insane.  Making a comeback after quitting training for an extended period, much less one when you are in your mid 30s, is not easy.  I think you are lying about the extent of your steroid use and your alleged "natural" comeback in the 90s.

Despite this choice, I (mostly) competed in UNtested contests.
Some might think, it was as dumb, as bringing a knife to a gun fight LOL.

In my first 90's NPC show ,it became clear, I'd be up against at least 1 juiced up freak as a Lt Hvy.
From my judging experience, I knew most freaky muscular guys had a clear advantage.
I quickly evolved my personal criteria for success to beating more juiced guys with shape and conditioning.

Most active IFBB pro fans, would be amazed to see how conditioning is a HUGE factor in winning local shows.
I quickly  learned, most  NPC shows got 1-2 freaks and most guys lacked conditioning and/or some body part.

I think that if we accept the concept of 'Bigorexia' then we all know people we trained with or competed against that just could not bite the bullet and risk losing even a few pounds of muscle mass to get ripped.  And I'm from the UK but I think our regionals back in the day sort of parallel this USA NPC-related observation of Howards...

I could have done a number of things to further devote myself to bodybuilding.
BUT, I did the exact opposite . I took time off from bodybuilding to
return to school and finally complete my undergrad degree in chemistry.
Some gym bros were concerned I'd lost my way.
They felt badly about me throwing away my "bodybuilding career".

Whoever suggests to you to ditch a degree in science for a bodybuilding career is a complete imbecile.

HACK, I'll contribute to your rental property request!

Based on 30+ years experience in the rental property business .... I have to recommend that you avoid the rental property business.

That is .... unless you have a family member who wants to keep busy maintaining the rental property after each and every tenant departs, show up in small claims court too damn many times each and every year in an effort to collect back rent, and so many other problems that keep you too damn busy and full of  worries.

The best I can say .... It's like renting your automobile to a 16 year old kid without a driver's license while hoping that its value will increase even though it's getting older and needs numerous and expensive repairs.

I don't think HOWARD (OP) would mind if you asked specific questions about the rental business. We would both do our best to answer them.

PS ... MARTY CHAMPION may want to contribute here. I think he's  somehow involved within the rental property business.

You've recited this bodybuilding saga of yours over and over, for years, on various message boards! You now seem to be attention-mongering, resentful, bummy, and loserish. Go live your fucking life already as does every sane middle aged man with a job and a woman, as you have. You're 50 something years old and can't move on.
