On Wednesday, the news for the US economy was stellar across the board.
A batch of data released at 8:30 a.m. ET showed that retail sales, inflation, and manufacturing activity all topped expectations.
All of this data follows Tuesday’s latest Small Business Optimism report from the NFIB, which showed an additional increase in optimism about the economy from America’s small business owners.
“The stunning climb in optimism after the election was significantly improved in December and confirmed in January,” said NFIB President and CEO Juanita Duggan. “Small business owners like what they see so far from Washington.”
This reading had been one of the most positive economic indicators in the wake of Donald Trump’s election win.

No it won't....theres been stellar news about the economy for the past six years...you just refused to see it...until now...which proves my assertion about your bias

Who is the "we" you're referring to in your thread title ?
"we" already know the economy is doing well. This has been an ongoing trend for a long time
Trump apparently is not aware of this since he claims to have inherited a mess when he took office less than a month ago

Its amazing all the guys who absolutely refused to give Obama any credit for the economy are now hugging Trump's nutsack for the economy we've already had for the past six years or more

Ask Yahoo. It's the title they gave their article.

Fair enough. Yahoo is a US company so that makes sense.
What's the economy like these days where you live?
Is that a secret too?

Not a secret, just on a "need to know" basis.

sounds like you're ashamed of where you live ?
no need to be embarrassed. You were probably just born there so it's not really your fault
why don't you move to the US
I know know if you've heard the news but we're going to be great again

and time and time again they've been proven to be false numbers. Like the UE.

Do you even know how the UE is calculated?
Hint.
It's not just one person or group.
So it's not false. It's a formula that has been calculated in the exact same way since 1948.

Yes, I do know how it's calculated. Regardless, you're implying that the actual UE when he left was around 4.6%?

Yes. According to the calculation used since 1948 it's under 5%.
Just like it is today under Trump.

Bullshit.
Obama took the US to an A- credit rating, the lowest in history and continued to raise the debt ceiling to create a false economy and/or stimulate the economy his policies killed.
The left and there BS about "growth" and "the stock market" when obama had to pump $10 trillion into the economy to try to ward off total financial meltdown. Not one mention of the inflation that has wiped out any wage gains seen by employees, while the Incompetent In Chief stumbled around for 8 years trying to find his ass with both hands.

I've given up on arguing with this. The difference of opinions especially on this is so night and day it's become comical. Facts are irrelevant anymore.

There's nothing to argue.
The unemployment rate is a formula. Period.
I get maybe math isn't your strong suit, but this formula is finite in regards to how they derive the solution.
It hasn't changed in almost 70 years. It is what it is.
Now as far as anyone arguing about the stock market or other economic indexes, that's fine. The UE rate is what it is and the reason why it's not worth arguing is because it's FINITE.
It's just math.
Math if factual. Your opinion of the math is not. That's the difference.
Like it or not, but UE doesn't magically become valid because a new guy is President.

Until the parameters in the mathematical equation are changed to fit a certain political ideology.
If you gave up looking for work you are no longer considered unemployed.
Yet the left accepts this as "okay" because it hides the real numbers behind obamas failed economic policies.
Come on Bru, you're way sharper than that.

But they aren't changed to fit anything.
The way it's calculated is the same today under Trump as it was under Obama and Bush and Clinton and the other Bush and Reagan and Carter and Ford and Nixon and Johnson and Kennedy and Eisenhower and Truman.
Now. If someone wishes to change the way it's calculated and annotate such and thereby change the formula, then the number may be different.
However, the formula is the current and same formula.
This has nothing to do with Obama. This has to do with math.
Now. If Trump uses the same math when he touts his UE numbers... you know he will.
Will you still say it's wrong and a fake number?
My point is that the number is generated by the formula that it has ALWAYS been generated by and is therefor the ONLY unemployment number. There's only one and it's not some "fake number" as some idiot would like us to believe.
The giving up looking for work thing has always been there and Obamas number isn't the only number that has taken that into consideration or in this case, the lack there of.
You know I'm not an Obama bot and have been extremely critical about many of his policies.
I simply can't stand anyone trying to Confuse issues over math and numbers.
The formula is the formula and has always been the formula.
When trump touts his 4.6% number I will support that number as a sign of a stronger economy than what it was 6 months ago and I will continue to be pleased with the way the United States outlook on jobs is and will be thankful if it continues throughout his presidency.
I do not want Trump to fail economically, socially, or internationally.
His success is the success of the nation and I want the nation to succeed. I have said it before and I mean it.
I just don't believe in anyone trying to disregard factual math to further politics.

This being said you think the real UE rate under Obama's last month was infact still around 4.6% instead of 9.5-10%.

As I explained, but you are not smart enough to realize there is no real or not real unemployment rate.
There is only THE unemployment rate.
It is exactly as it is stated. Because math.

Got it. Thanks for clarifying. I guess the economists along with other economic reports that disagree with your facts are wrong as well. How stupid of me. So again, you REALLY think that it was at or around 4.6%?

The economic reports you post are not the unemployment rate.
The unemployment rate IS that number and if you continue to say otherwise, it's definitely stupid of you.

HEAD IN SAND - SOOOOOOOO ONCE AGAIN:
"The seasonally-adjusted SGS Alternate Unemployment Rate reflects current unemployment reporting methodology adjusted for SGS-estimated long-term discouraged workers, who were defined out of official existence in 1994."

Sure. Because that guy is the guy we should all believe. Not I don't know. The people who actually make the statistic. I gotcha.
The reality is that the rate that the government always uses is the U-3 rate and is the rate that has been in use for DECADES.
Your guy is just straight up lying to say otherwise.
So no. My head isn't in the sand. I understand and get the difference, but it doesn't change the fact that the rate is the rate AND whether you like to believe it or not, is the same way it has always been calculated.
Sorry dude.
