Title: ZANE's later years
Post by: Nether Animal on February 20, 2017, 06:31:33 AM
I'm a bigger fan of his early '70s look, and most of his critics seem to look to these years when picking him apart. He came in much heavier but still looks pretty sharp.

YEAH and he was older too his face was aged and the thickening 'look'his waist was due to age, being bigger than usual,he looked 'chemical'with the times in early 80's to keep up with bigger guys who were getting bigger and bigger.

Ppl are saying zane had size... Look at him next to guys who were 220/230. Lol... Hes like shawn ray. Type of guy who says "nah, i dont wanna do the stuff required to be that big". Bullshit. Doesnt matter what they do or how much they take, theyre not gonna have the size of other guys.

I have the DVD of the '82 Olympia when Zane weighed 200 pounds. He looks much better in the relaxed round, his extra size made a difference. However, when he posed, the muscularity and definition were not as sharp as they were in the years when he won the Olympia.

Shawns best look was around 210, he couldn't hold his conditioning even when he got "bigger" at 215, that's why he stayed relatively the same for a decade, not that he didn't want to get bigger but cause he couldn't and it would mess up his lines and conditioning

Flex wheeler was the same, their frames couldn't hold the mass like Ronnie, levrone, Cormier, etc

Onstage at a pro show everybody is trying to take more than they think the other guys are using and get bigger than the next guy. Nobody "chooses" to be smaller.

Insane physique on Zane. He did go up to 220-225 pounds at 5'9"-5'9.5" a couple of times in his career btw (late 60's and early/mid 70's). Some of his best shots imo.  8)

And there isn't riots in the USA? I seem to remember how there were quite a lot riots just few month back, while police shoot black citizens just for fun. Difference is obvious: In the Sweden, police kill 1 - 3 criminals per year, and it is less than police kill daily in the USA.  In Sweden you have free health care,  free medicines, far more safe society and cleaner environment than USA, they even live longer than average American. If you look statistic about crime and violence, it is all just like I say: Yearly figures in Sweden are like daily figures in USA.

If tin foil hat Trump try to fool you, it isn't mandatory to believe. What he is doing is just childish try to make you believe that he can make changes in the USA, while he is just saying that everything is worse in other countries. That is just bullshit, and you soon find out what kind of moron you have as an president. Just start to calculate things which in your life has change better by the acts of government? Do you have longer vacations? Do you have more money? Is your living became cheaper in any way? Do you have free...anything to compensate taxes you pay? How many full paid holidays you have per year? Swedes has 6 to 8 weeks free time with full salary each year + paid holidays, sick leaves, maternity leaves and finally they get their pension at the age of 60 something, how about you? They doesn't even pay significantly more taxes than you guys do, but they get way more from what they pay. If there is few silly Muslims jumping around, it is nothing compared to the fact, that you have more than million black Americans in your prisons as a slaves, who work for different companies by cent's per hour  Grin

How about USA and problems with muslims? You send your youth to foreign countries to be killed by them, and that is just fine and dandy for you? If you compared figures of the category "killed by muslims", it take decades to get swedes reach the numbers you manage to do each week. So what is your point? Sweden is a trash country because your new god, D. Trump say so referring false news? Yippikayee, he has to be messiah to you..

No one ever said he was. He was even less than that in 1982 onstage. Like 201-203 pounds. He WAS 220-225 in the offseason in the late 60's (beach pics with Arnold and Draper) as well as rebeefing up in the early/mid 70's (his own claim).

Broad square shoulders on an amazing slim waist, which thickened in his later years.
Good triceps, back definition, diamond calves, strong forearms, full neck and quads...
Lacking biceps and lacking chest depth but nice square form...
Good looking lad with boring personality...
Imagine walking around looking like greek god but lacking energy and charisma...

Their "heavier" bodyweights were less than 230lbs.

More bodyweight requires more food and harder, leaner physiques require more androgens. More food = bloated stomach, more androgens =.enlarged liver.

Who cares how an old guy looks while juicing. Let me see how they look completely off drugs then I'll praise their physique.  Too many guys want credit for how they look on drugs when they know they look like crap 6 months off.  Zane completely off drugs isn't a pretty sight.

Frank Zane at 220-225 pounds  :-*

The 1968 Mr. Universe he was slightly over 200.

He definitely wasn't over 200 pounds when he won the 1968 Mr. Universe, he was more like 180-185. Arnold was 250 and he couldn't believe he got beat by someone
who only weighed 180 pounds. That first pic looks morphed too.
Zane was about 185 for this first Olympia win and he gained maybe 2-3 pounds a year for each of his three wins. He was at his best and heaviest weight at the 1979 Olympia.
He injured himself in 1980 and he was much smaller and leaner (probably 180), he took 1981 off and came back in 1982 close to 200 but lost to Dickerson. He hurt his shoulder
the next year and wasn't able to train as heavy so he was smaller again in the 1983 Olympia. That was his last year of competing.
