Yes, but this has nothing to do with a dynamic mechanism called physiology.
The answer lies in monitoring your calorie intake, body weight and body fat. Sure, there are formulas (IMO the Katch-McArdle is a pretty good one), but they're nothing more than a starting point.

Go by the mirror and eat all of the foods listed below at various times per day/per week:
lean steak
lean hamburger
fish
tuna fish
eggs and eggwhites
salmon
whey powder
fibrous veggies
potatoes
sweet potatoes
yams
oatmeal
peanut butter
cashew butter
etc.. and tons of water per day.
Again,go by the mirror and throw away your scale.

i bought some pro powder
one is whey and the other is beef
i hate fucking following the crowd with this eat more protein horsehit, but i think there is some merit to it coz when i actually kept track of this shit and ate more than a gram per pound of bodyweight i did make better gains
it's easy peasy to get carbs and fats in but protien is more of a pain in the ass >:(

No matter which formula you're using, it's nothing more than a starting point. It's the variable monitoring that matters.

yep, i tried 2400 for just a few days and i could just tell that it was too damn little
now i'll go with 3 grand and monitior from there
but what i'm curious about is his idea about marco ratios
most sites say 40/40/20 pro/carb/fat
but others say 30/40/30 and even 33/33/33

Those macro ratio's don't matter that much unless you're a diabetic or have metabolic issues.
