Him and Levrone aiming to "do some damage".
-
Remarkable site injects in his left shoulder.

If he still has his legs he might look okay. But this was 3 years ago, and guys generally don't improve at his age (hundreds of years old)...

Seems like a nice guy but he won't do well against the pros of today.
-
competing for a participation ribbon.....IFBB is dead! just fucking bury it already

Agreed. Looks pretty damn good by himself, and much fuller then Levrone, but he's gonna get dwarfed by the top guys of today. How old is this guy exactly? He should probably look into the masters.

Tied for 16th. place.
Sad but true. This is not the same as his 15th place at the 2007 Mr. Olympia contest, where there were 24 competitors, none of whom were placed after Will. They were all "16th" in the manner you describe, you could say.
So Will's 15th that year at the Olympia was a meaningful placing. Especially given that he was, what, 46 years old at the time?
Could you imagine how freaky Will would look in person? He would easily be the largest and most muscular man in any gym 99% of the time, literally anywhere in North America. Yet despite this, by Arnold Classic standards, we are saying he looks bad. Perspective makes a difference here. He will place last, as you said, but he is looking freaky for any age, let alone a 55-year-old man.
Oh, and I fear for his health.

Anyone else recall when the Arnold was a great lineup and the competitors actually came inshape?

To be clear, yes, I am critiquing his physique from a top-tier-show perspective. No question he looks unreal. But in a pro lineup? Donesville.
-
Exactly. And the same can and should be said for Levrone.
-
Looks small and depleted.
-
Strange paradox how all older body builders except Dexter are on a "comeback"

He has the face of a chronically constipated man.

Yes, and your criticisms are fair.
I need to take a step back to process just how freaky Will would be in person.

Sometimes it's logical only to wonder how much longer bodybuilding will be a "sport" these day... The same 5 guys at the top of the world.
Then a large divide between the rest.

the gym is exercise, the stage is art.

That's very meta. Couldn't the same be applied to any "sport" as well then to discredit it?

Most sports have a measurable performance component....time, distance, weight.
Bodybuilding is a pageant.

its impossible to discredit bodybuilding, to be discredited one must first have to have attained credit.

Bodybuilding is the sole reason why Arnold Schwarzenegger is known worldwide.
That alone validates and garners credit to bodybuilding.
