The NFL draft repeating history for Black Males. Line them up which Rich white guys bid to choose the biggest and strongest of the bunch to work for them. Only difference is they get paid but still a lot of parallels to the slave days. Then they bring all of the to camp and have them beat each other up until the strongest survives and makes the team. The weaker ones are let go for other slave owners to pick up.

Explain what? The Patriots aren't on the list. They'll get the last draft pick in the last round. (If that's what you're getting at)

their first pick is in the 70's round 3. The correct answer is how Cleveland has the chance to ruin the careers of two first rounders this year

Very true

COACH/DIABLO, Good call.
Which team gets first pick in round 1?
Basic info in an attempt to get GetBiggers interested in American football.
How much time does each team get to make a 'pick' decision within each round?
What are the requirements that allow a potential player to be on the 'list'?
All decent questions asked by a 6 year old nephew.

QFT

I think in the next 2 drafts, the Browns have 9 picks in the first two rounds. If they can't turn around that shit franchise with that type of firepower, they deserve to be disbanded/sold/whatever.
The No. 1 overall pick in 2017.
The No. 12 overall pick in 2017 (from Philadelphia).
The No. 33 overall pick in 2017.
The No. 52 overall pick in 2017 (from Tennessee).
The No. 65 overall pick in 2017.
Their own first-round pick in 2018.
Their own second-round pick in 2018.
Philadelphia’s second-round pick in 2018.
Houston’s second-round pick in 2018.

They need to just draft the best player at any position with each pick. Don't reach for a need. If you can get 9 great players on your team then you can build around them. they'll probably reach for a shitty QB or something.

The only 'draft' I've been associated with was the movie "Draft Day", but now I'm attempting to educate myself on the basics of how it's done and the history of why it's done that way.
I origionally found the historical part of it to be super-interesting and soon discovered that it's much more complicated than the way you would get it done, Diablo.
I assume that all football fans realize that the low team on the totem pole gets first pick and can trade that position if some "private strategy" seems best for that particular team.
I'm hoping that some GetBigger can point out when that has been done most recently.
Also the requirement for 'consideration' was interesting in that you did not have to even be a college football player to get on that 'list'.
COACH... Are you working with or have you worked with anyone who was a "draft day consideration"?
And what are the average number of scouts employed by each NFL team now a days? How many are employed by the NFL itself? And is there a list naming each of these scouts?

No offense to you Coach, but fuck the NFL. It is nothing but a bunch of frotards and white trash doing the ghetto dance after even the most undemanding play.
Fret not, for the NBA is worser.

No offense taken. I get it. But don't blame the players blame the league (Goodell) these kids are just following their dream. It's not their fault. Some are just as frustrated.

I hold them responsible for their behavior. I think viewership is down for the NFL and ESPN is also suffering. I say good riddance to ESPN and other such venues.
John used to say that athletes are like women, if you place them on a pedestal sooner or later they will look down on you. It's just a game. There is no more honor on or off the field. In the 60s a guy like Butkus would tackle someone and then get off them and walk away. Today they do a stupid dance and taunt the man they just tackled. Touchdowns are just as stupid.
This is why I'm glad San Diego let the Chargers crawl away and Oakland can let the Raiders sink into the sands of Vegas for all the fans care. And yes, I know there are good men playing but the truth of this problem is they are not mentioned as worthy of recognition.
The fooking ground apes, black, white, brown, what-have-you, are placed on that pedestal. And you can bet they look down on the fans with disdain.

That's fine but considering you have about 1700 players in the NFL, there are only a few that will give it a bad name. If you don't like the NFL and to you "it's just a game" but it's still a job and this is what they chose to do for a living. Most of are working in a job that we didn't dream of doing. These guys are doing what they set out to do.

How much time does each team get to make a 'pick' decision within each round?
The Cleveland Browns had close to 4 months to make their first pick.

I don't follow football.
What does this mean??

Coach can you talk about AAS use in the NFL?
I'll make a separate thread if yes!

Nothing really to talk about.

I believe that the following is presently going on at present regarding the new Raiders' Stadium in LV .....
Feel free to correct me if you see any errors as I am definitely not in the loop and definitely could be mistaken ... but most likely, I definitely ain't!
a. The Raiders' 30 year lease agreement with the Las Vegas Stadium Authority (LVSA) must be completed in a timely manner to keep the move on track.
The LVSA will be meeting (with the appropriate Raiders reps) on 21 April regarding the lease terms..
b. The development agreement to build the stadium.
c. A shared-use agreement with the co-tenant (UNLV).
d. A non-relocation agreement with the Raiders.
Interesting to note that the Raiders will be the stadium developer and purchase the land and then transfer the ownership to the Stadium Authority.
The above provision exists to protect the $750 million public investment in the stadium if the Raiders were to ever leave.
