I won $8k at a table playing blackjack. It was a night where I couldn't lose. Was playing $5, but just let it ride after each win, before I knew it I had some $500 bets going and the kicker was I split aces and hit blackjack on both. Was awesome, but sadly over the years I'm probably still down overall in my gambling debt.

One of the problems with negative expectation games... you'll have big wins if you play long enough, but they unfortunately don't cover all the losses.
You can tweak out an edge at blackjack with the right conditions, but you need a large bank and no life playing endless hours. And that's assuming you don't get kicked out, bet too high and play too right they kick you out.

my mom and her husband are lucky as hell,i think they have a gambling issue ;D..they go to vegas 3 x yr and atlantic city 2 to 3x a month all comped at 'tropicana',they have won 14,000 on poker machine and 10k and 4k,my mom plays video keno and has hit 1k too many times to remember,last week in ac she hit for 1800.00 and came home and 2hrs later hit 500.00 on a scratch off hows that for gamblers luck,,,i have zero luck at it,i go play at yonkers few times a yr with her or ac I go and get a room on a lowered rate cause of them..

Not really, say you go to vegas 3-4 times a year like I do. I bring maybe $1000 for gambling, fun, clubs, food etc... each time. Even if I lose $500 of it on the tables I got my entertainment value from it. So yeah, add up all loses over a lifetime and I'm down, but I knew going in that the $1000 was for my weekend of fun so I didn't miss it, but on one of those trips hitting $8K, it made for an awesome weekend with some fun whores.

DIABLO, I call myself a Blackjack expert and have been teaching the game to family members and friends who show an interest ..... and have been playing the game in Nevada casino since the days when you could place a 25 cent bet.
I teach family and friends how to play the game by keeping the House Edge to a minimum, but even then there is no guarantee of coming out ahead every time you sit at a BJ tables.
I'm only a five/ten dollar player but I can honestly say that I have won more than I have lost since I learned how to play the game since Beat the Dealer became so damn popular.
Winning (or losing as less as possible) is simply a matter of understanding Basic Strategy and knowing when to quit or simply knowing when to move to a different table.
Here is some BJ shit that is not explainable but always seems to work in my favor.
I always win more (or lose less) when I sit at first base.
I always leave a table if one of the other players doesn't play by the Basic Strategy 'rules'.
I always leave a table if the dealer wins three hands in a row.
I quit when my winnings are 3x larger than my daily bankroll or if and when my bankroll gets down to zero .... which is seldom.
I never play at any table that does not pay 3/2 for a blackjack. Anyone that accepts even-money is a fool. And most of these fools don't even realize that they are paying the casino every time they get a BJ.
I never play at any table that utilizes a continuous shuffle machine.
I never make a side bet.
I never fail to tell any Pit Boss that the casinos are fucking up Las Vegas and it will never return to the way it used to be. Their only response is a nod of the head and complete silence.
And ................
I won't pay for parking in any Las Vegas casino.

When the dealer has a 6 showing and someone with 12 tells the dealer to hit and gets a jack and then the dealer turns a 10, hits and gets a 5 and wins when they should have had that jack and bust fucking kills me. I usually call that person out and go to another table.
Yes, the continuous shuffler is the biggest scam. I still think these shuffling machines are rigged to give the better hands to the dealer.
For fun I like to play let it ride. When the dealer used to shuffle manually I've hit 4 of a kind twice and full house about 5 times. Since they went to the shuffling machine I get shit cards every fucking time and no one at the table ever gets a decent hand anymore. I swear the machine is rigging it.

I've done it. The results fit the theories; for instance, the sum of the draws follows a Gaussian Curve (Central Limit Theorem).
The observed frequencies "match" the expected frequencies when running a Chi square test.
It's all good. They don't even need to cheat. Those games have an extremely high negative expected value, that's it, for every dollar you bet, you can expect to lose 0.9999 dollars. Even more, depending on the game.
Also, there's no point in trying to guess the winner numbers since those events are independent.
I guess that in some extraordinary cases, and as long as you knew the lotto business and the necessary statistics from the A to the Z, maybe then you could do some damage.
There are 2 well known cases. One of them involved a Stanford Prof of Statistics, and the other case a group of MIT students. But the general consensus is that they didn't "beat" the theory. Instead, they realized something was off with some lotto games. :) :)

The Power ball is the biggest scam. The winner with the 5 numbers and powerball got something like $300 million. 5 numbers and no powerball was something like $100 and 4 numbers with the powerball was $3000 or something. Basically all of nothing. The draws can go months and months with no winner.

That doesn't hurt you in the long run. The player could've just as easily gotten the 5 and given the dealer a ten. You forget the bad plays that help and tend to remember the ones that screw you over.

Same here mate, even more so me being the type to lose fucking money. The same fucker I mentioned years ago we went to the toon moor amusements and the first slot machine he had a go of was fucked and kept paying out he left with about £150 which was almost a weeks wages at the time, the same weekend out on the drink at Whitley bay he found £20 on the floor in a bar. Fucking bastard he is

Scratch ticket 200,hand of bj 10k,hand of 3 card poker no jack pot 12k,hand of 3 card with mini royal jackpot 20,400.Poker jackpot 64k,I gambled for years almost everyday and did really well.Didnt work at all in 2011-2013 as I did quite well going from Mohegan sun,Atlantic City and private poker games.then the luck completely changed in 2014 so I took a break and now I go gambling twice a week usually.

I love watching this show on tv called the Lotto ruined my life. Too funny seeing how dumb people are. The worst is a michigan lady who won something like $8 million, lost it all in 2 years then won another jackpot of $3 million. or some waitress in vegas who hit $25 million on the Big progressive slots in vegas, the next day bought a car and wrapped it around a pole and was in a wheelchair the rest of her life paralyzed.

The winning ticket was sold at a place called "The lotto" on the California/Nevada border.

I was at a 7/11 and bought a $20 scratch ticket. Won $200. Went to cash it and the cashier said they don't carry enough cash. WTF! You sell the ticket, then pay the fuck up. Took it to a liquor store and the guy said he had only $140. Told him I'd buy 3 more $20 tickets to make the difference. So annoying.

I've won a bunch of $500-$600 on lotto quick picks. As long as it's under 600 you can cash it anywhere they sell Lotto tickets. I cash all my winnings over a couple hundred at the grocery store. They always have plenty of money and don't give you that dumb ass look, like you're taking all their money.
Note: If you win over $600 and you live in broke California, it will take up to 6 months to get your money from the Lotto. (after they take out 25%)

It was 200.00 a month for those three years...My employer at the time told me that until a person is actually a "millionaire" (one million altogether in one place, liquid), the best thing to do in investing is a good mutual fund...He personally recommended Fidelity Magellan.
