just buy peanut butter you like the taste of, why buy PB that's 100% peanuts that tastes like cement when you can buy PB at half the price at 97% peanuts that tastes great?

Vast majority of the ppl i know who eat "natural" pb have never actually read the label and are surprised #1 natural jiff and skippy still have sugar (usually 4-6grams), just no High fructose corn syrup.. & #2 regular pb has high fructose corn syrup.

Natural pb should have 2 ingredients. Peanuts & salt.

Peiple also think pb is "a good source of protein"... Sure, if you want 160g fat and 40g carbs to go along with the 80g protein (3500kcal) in a jar.

Nautral PB without palm oil is shit.  It's just a cement block of ground peanuts with 2 inches of oil on top.  You need a stable version or you're just mixing shit all the time splashing peanut oil all over the place.

Doesn't need, nor should it have salt.

The best natural peanut butter (all nut butters for that matter) came from a store near Villanova called the Head Nut.  It was right down the street from Main Line Health & Fitness.

The peanut butter was fresh ground every day, and you could buy it in 5 lb. buckets.  It had one ingredient:  peanuts.

My brother used to feed some to his Cane Corso.

Now this thread has me needing to make a trip to the Head Nut.

I used to get peanut butter, almond butter and cashew butter there.

All were awesome.

I used to keep some of this in the refrigerator at the gym for when I was working on the floor to grab a tbsp or two with my MetRx.

Ah, the days of being a student surrounded by middle aged women fighting the desperate battle against gravity.....

Go into any farmer store like Sprouts, Henrys, whole foods, jimbos etc... and you can grind your own nuts on the spot.

Peanuts contain many allergens and potential afalatoxin.  Nasty shit.  The BV of peanut protein is fairly low.  No reason to eat it.

Did you know that the peanut is not truly a nut?

It is a legume so eat a jar of legumes which only contain salt nothing else.   :D

This thing is ~ 15 bucks and works great
It's just a lid and a metal mixing hook

Works even better for natural almond butter which really turns into a brick in the jar

Mix it once (which agreed is a PITA), but then keep it in fridge and it won't separate.

well you somehow are screwing it up
So odd-I've eaten natural pb all my life and have never had that issue

I've used a spoon or a butter knife until I bought that stirrer thing

As someone else mentioned the spoon (or fork or knife) tends to splash the oil around and often out of the jar and you don't get as good of a consistency (at least I don't)   Especially true for natural almond butter which can be like half dried cement.
