yes. several times. beautiful and very safe.

some.of the. most gorgeous beaches around
hotels are kinda shit and the food isn't that great. A five star hotel in cuba is actually closer to 3 stars. they lack certain foods which makes it difficult for them to recreate French or Chinese cuisine in those type of theme restaurants.

Cuba is awesome. Got married there. We're separated now. Wait, maybe Cuba isn't so great. :/

We stayed in Varadero, but took a trip to Havana as well. Had a blast. Beautiful country.

La floridita is a good place to eat.  Just stay at Melia Habana or Melia Cayo Coco, gorgeous places.  Lots of hot cuban hookers for cheap dollars but the hotels know the hookers and don't like it when you bring them in.
Make sure to take a tour of some cigar plantations.  One of the best to visit and the most welcoming is the Vegas Robaina plantation.  Good place.

Used to be safe. Hearing more and more crap stories from there these days. These people used to be poor but honest. It's changing these days.

I've been there 3 times...Varadaro twice and Cayo Coco once. It's good but like most say the food leaves a bit to be desired. Definitely read current reviews of any hotel you are planning on going, and don't stay in anything less than a 4 star. But the people are great there.

This for sure. Also what Cubans consider 4 and 5 star will more than likely not be a 4 or 5 star to you so go into it with those expectations.

i stayed about 10-15 years ago the last time in Cuba (Santa Lucia, middle of Cuba, Atlantic side), nice-clean beach with reef and some sharks. Only 5 Hotels that time, all inclusive....the Airport was Camguey, 1 hour away from Santa Lucia.

one of my friends ist staying some months in Cuba now (Santiago de Cuba, 2nd largest City after Havanna). He´s married with a cuban Lady, and have 1 daughter together. The Brother of his wife have a small gym for BB and weightlifting, and fighting arts in Santiago de Cuba, Gimnasio "Viva Cuba". My friend was a former Arnold Classic champ, world champ, world recordholder in the benchpress. In the early 90´s he was the 1. german who benched + 300kg within 220 lbs. The only good things about Cuba are the price, and the beaches.

Some of the nicest beaches ive been to are in Cuba.

The resorts are run down, and the quality of food and drinks are pretty shitty.  But if you're a simple person and not a snob you can enjoy yourself.

I had a good time at

Not so good time at the Memories in Varadero.

kinda hoping to go one day but mainly for the food...not so much now lol.
I hit up certain Cuban spots in Jersey like Union City where the food is great. I guess the quality is different on the mainland.

Mainland Cuban food such as that in Miami can be quite good.  In Cuba it's like the spice rack contains one item: Salt.  Food either has too much salt or seemingly no salt at all.  That's really the only thing your tongue differentiates in terms of flavors.  Lack of variety is major thing as well.  Beans and rice with some meat so tough you'll swear it was carved off the forehead of the cow.  They even manage to make seafood unappealing due to lack of seasoning.  I will say the fresh fruit kicks major ass.  And every hotel goes though gallons and gallons of ice cream, as hotel guests who turn their nose up at the food by day 3, pigout on icecream and fruit the remainder of their stay.

The thing you have to remember is that everyone talking about how bad the food is are talking about the food served in the resorts. If you go off the resort into the city and go to some restaurants the food is much better.

the food improves but is still leaves a lot to be desired.
