 Good for him. Obviously mentally challenged.   Probably only three people showed up in those classes but who cares he's doing something productive.  Does he juice? That would be a shame if so

Just because a man gets 3rd out of 3 in a contest, doesn't mean he didn't beat anyone. ???
He gets a trophy and is called "an almost winner." Plus, he's now fully qualified for the nationals. :D

They have to start having athletic points like they had during the early days of the AAU Mr. America contest. They had to get a total in the Snatch, Clean and Press and the Clean and Jerk. They had to prove they weren't mirror athletes.
