That was some crazy stuff. Watching the fires from my apartment. The whole city shut down. I didn't have a thing in my fridge to eat so I ventured down the block to the panda express but it was closed. Ahh the memories. Can't remember if golds was closed. (BB related)

Yup, I was around for that shit. I was a cable guy at that time. I remember they called us back in early the day it went down. I was driving down La Cienega back to he shop when I looked over and saw 7-Eleven and a cleaners engulfed in flames. This car full of brothers was in the lane beside me and this black chick leaned out of the window and said to me "You betta get yo ass on home!" I just replied "I'm on my way sister!"... ;D

reginald denny. I'll never forget his name. Animals. Great story about a black kid watching it unfold on tv live. He left his house saying god told him to save Denny. His mom begged him not to leave the house. He went anyway. Pulled Denny in his truck and another brother he met was a truck driver who came to help. They drove dennys rig to the hospital and saved his life. I saw an article a couple years ago saying Denny is still all messed up from his injuries.

Golds was open that I can remember. The curfew was dusk to dawn. I was training for the OC and the Cal at the time and having a riot in the middle of your contest prep is a helluva thing.
Everyone who had extra guns lent them out to friends.
Many fanny packs with firearms in them over that few days.

I get to her pad, boss calls me back in: "Shit's burning, man. Need help." No clue what'd happened. Worked all night. Day or two later, my roomie gets called in (Nat'l Guard). Good times.
