What would your ideal life be like if you could choose freely?
For me:
net worth: $ 1 billion
work: 20 hours per week
relationship: stable relationship
leisure: travelling all over the world
-
Net worth - not sure of actual amount but enough to no actually have to ever work again.
Work - either run a gym but not actually care about profit, just a good gym with a few happy well looked after staff and great training atmosphere and be happy as long as breaking even or a small building firm with a few mates picking only the good jobs . Both options rely on having the financial security of the net worth question.
Relationship - mail order bride to cook and clean house and provide sex and additionally the occasional prostitute or whore met in local pub
Leisure - drunk most weekends
-
you don't need 1billion

nope, but this is an ideal life, and it would be nice to drink a glass of red wine and look at that bank account! 8)

Pretty much this plus being healthy and fit, surrounded by good people and free from stress

your ideal life is lacking.

it gets old, trust me.
(look at the bank account I mean).
what you really want is a life free from external obligations and debts, nothing owed, no roots, free to go wherever you want as you please, and just have enough money not to ever have to think about it again.
....basically you can get that on much, much less $$.
and then your "ideal life" would be actually attainable!

there was a Werner Herzog documentary where one of the people just had all his belongings in a large backpack, and he just travelled all over the world and took the odd job. Not a bad life.
-
Wake up to it daily already.
-
healthy, no debt, a few million, and immune to all STDs.

fair enough, but what do you prioritize or value in life? We are trying to have a discussion here :)

Involves your Mom
-
you don't need 1billion
100% true.
A paltry $1 million in cash and I would be able to stop working completely and live the rest of my life very comfortably. Most guys here would probably need more because you are younger.
Dating and relationships are a drain on your wealth. Rent a whore if you're horny... at least you know she is a sure thing.
The most important thing is health.

hell save up 250k, move to south east asia, like thailand or something, BOOM you're set for life if you're just a little bit smart.

I know someone who did this... it's not as simple as it sounds. You must learn the language and the customs. It's not legal for a foreigner to own property in the majority of these countries.
-

I have seen some YouTube videos about living in e.g. Thailand. 250k sounds a little low.

I never understood the fascination for that place. Sure, the weather is good, it's cheap and there's plenty of nature, but it's also a corrupt & criminal place full of beggars & trannies.

I feel the same way. There are so much other countries to live cheaply in the sun.
Thailand seems like a bit of sinfull mess.It is also not as cheap as ond might expect. If you want to live like some sort of bum/drifter it is cheap, wanna live in a nice house and do stuff, you wil need money/steady income.
-

Health
Family
Creating opportunity for others
Travel
In that order
To ensure the above are addressed I need to make an abundance of money, which I do and love how I do it.
-
As long as my cows are happy and the farm is making a nice profit I am living the ideal life.
-

Thailand seems like a bit of sinfull mess.
Well, most of those countries aren't much better, apart from the trannies. Often, the 'best' countries to live are also the more expensive. I would rather live in a stable place with a high living standard, such as Zwitserland or simply travel between the better places.

Check out Chiang Mai. It is a large expat community in the north of Thailand. To me, it looks a lot more appealing that some of the other cities in Thailand.

Ideal Life:
Aveshers Life
(having a povertybag in basement and a cute potato)
Falcons Life
Having a povertybag and eating Kale greens with sea salt + electricity
Toka Swola/Cswol
Believing you are black and create bad rap

This place looks great & peaceful. One thing is for sure, I would never visit large places such as Bangkok or Pattaya, too much people over there.

Could not agree more. Zwitserland is great. Switch it up with italy, miami, california, japan, hawai, alaska, greenland, stockholm, paris, zwijndrecht, new york, hong kong, dubai india etc etc. The good life.

all this talk about being free, having enough money in your pocket and visiting countries...

why dream about something that's not attainable when you can set your sights on something equally amazing but within the realm of reason?
-
Looking at homes in Del Mar/Rancho Penasquitos (where my boys grandparents live) the other day and saw a 7k sq ft home with dual 2 car garages overlooking the canyon for i think 3.2mil, so i'd take that.
Have a Range Rover Autobiography white w/red interior & black ADV wheels & a Granturismo MC white& red w/black ADV wheels & an Akrapovic exhaust as daily drivers & a white Aventador Roadster w/ red interior and rose gold ADV wheels and an iPe exhaust as a weekend car... And an RWB Porsche 964 in that baby blue GT3 color.
Probably spend a couple weeks a month in another country like vietnam, thailand, japan, greece, lebanon, tortolla, & mexico.
Probably run just a gram of test a week with 9iu serostim and 100mg proviron a day, w/ a couple mg's of arimidex a week.
Maybe spend a couple months a year camping or in a cabin in alaska hunting & shooting some guns. An AR in 458 SOCOM, some 338 Lapua, DP-12, etc..
Buy a few apt buildings in san diego. Buy a strip mall and have a regular gym, a "functional" gym, a sushi restaurant, & a longevity clinic (all owned by me lol), a Victoria's Secret, a MAC store, Bath & Bodyworks, Forever21, Massage Envy, & whatever else...
Sushi, pizza, & cheeseburgers everyday.
Think i could find something to fill my days. ;)

ReykJavik is damn expensive, but I would love to see those geysers in action. Toronto is a long flight, but a cheap stay since a friend of mine (no homo) is living there.
AFAIK VG moved to Brussels.

Probably keep a nice apartment/condo in the city to go to visit, see concerts ballgames, hockey games, nothing too fancy
other than that I would have a well stocked home gym at my cottage/farmhouse, kinda like ferrigno has, put it in a building on the proprty
I would get up early in the morning, have my coffee on my deck, have abite to eat, workout in my home gym, shower eat, run some errands/volunteer somewhere a few times a week, chill out with friends, aquaintences, go fishing, hiking, driving, post on getbig, go to my meetings, have bbq's on the weekends, go into the city a few times a month for concerts, baseball/hockey games, have a garden, donate to charity/ have my own charity, just live well.
Thing is I can do most of those things in smaller doses minus the material shit. The money would just a cool means to an end though.
Nice to dream a bit
-
Great one, Nelson!
Apart from getting up early in the morning

One of my few serious replies here.
I am 58 and feel I have already lived a pretty good life. I have a successful career that has me setup for a nice retirement. I am going to retire in about 4 years, at that time I want to move to Destin/Sandestin area in the Florida panhandle and finish out life. Walk the beach each morning as long as I am able to and just take each day as they come. No worries, no deadlines, just chillin. That is why I worked so hard for 30 yrs at the same company and rose up to where I have. I had great parents that taught me to work hard and earn what I have. I also have a family that loves me. I have had bad health issues for several years but have not given up and will not give up. I guess if I had to choose an ideal life it would be the one I have. :D

I hear nothing about a hot wife in your life, so I'm not sure if I can be happy for you.
-
GYM*RAT, i'll seriously reply back to ya.
A lot of what you said above, I have done throughout my lifetime almost daily .... Until recently.
For the vast majority of my lifetime I have lived within walking distance of a few of the world's finest beaches and have always taken advantage of it with long walks along the shoreline and deep dives beneath the sea.
And on rare occasions I had to be content with living on a river with long walks along its banks searching for where the fish were bitting best.
And all of that was before I retired.
And strangely enough I ended up in Las Vegas with a five hour drive to reach the Pacific.
Some say it's a life led up-side down .... but up-sidedown or not .... it's a living.
And a damn fine one to be honest.
Don't be too damn surprised when your health improves while taking long walks on those Florida beaches and in their clear blue waters.
I can't say that i've seen miracles, but i have seen wonders during those sea-side strolls.
-
I hear nothing about a hot wife in your life, so I'm not sure if I can be happy for you.
I had a hot wife in my life but she and life was boring as hell. Married for 28 yrs and I was unhappy for the last 10-12 years. I tried to get myself back into the marriage but no luck. We divorced 2 years ago. I have been friends with a 27 year old beautiful blonde for 5 years. Always kept it on the friend level. After the divorce we did more and more together. So the answer to your response is no hot wife anymore but one hell of a hot girlfriend. Some people are supportive some are dicks about our age difference. We don't give 2 fucks what they say. We have an incredible time together and she will be with me on those walks on the beach.
-
what about seagulls
they can be very noisy

Stunt, even if you lived it upside down it is obvious it worked well for you. FYI, I love Vegas! I battled cancer and polycythemia. Now I battle chronic back pain due to 2 degenerative diseases. I have had 5 major back surgeries including 2 fusions. I know my quality of life will be better down there. These Indiana winters and the other bullshit weather we have takes it toll on me. I know it won't cure my back pain but I know it will lessen the pain. I want nothing more than to get off all the damn pain meds they have me on.
-

Lmao, very true. The only time seagulls bother me when I am down there is when some dumb ass tourists feed them and the bastards gang up like Crips. They fly around and shit everywhere.

Gym*RAT, Your reply is amazing! Let me explain what I meant when I said, "I have seen wonders!" someplace up above.
It's a story somewhat similar to your own.
A long story but I'll make it short.
When I was much younger and stationed in Hawaii, I lived just about 50 yards from Waikiki Beach.
I met a friend of a friend one day and he was 'encased' in a horrid backtrace that restricted all of his bodily movements.
One sunny afternoon he slowly walked with us to the beach and he became very remorse when he saw the ocean and realized he could not go in it.
So I volunteered to walk with him into the water as far as he was able to go. When the water reached his waistline he started crying because he was so damn happy and asked me if I would support him while he tried to lay on his back.
I said sure but let's take that brace off first.
It took a while but it did come off and a friend took it back to the beach and he was floating happily and felt weightless and comfortable , so I said. "Hold on and lets go further out and see some fish!"
A short time later it was time to float back to the shoreline and reinstall that damn back-brace. but before it was brought to us he was already standing in water that reached his chest without pain so I suggested we continue walking to the shoreline until the pain returned.
Still no pain at waist level water
And still no pain at knee level
So he walked onto the beach with only a little bit of help from myself.
And a slow walk back to the hotel.
I carried the brace.
And he never used it again.
One of my favorite beach stories, but there were many more.
Thanks for sharing. It brought back some darn good memories.

That is an incredible story. Being in a pool or ocean is such a great relief from the pain. I had a pool in the house I lost in the divorce. Weather permitting I lived in that thing. I would get home from work, change and hit the pool. I would stay out there most night until time to go to bed. The weight pressure being released is instant relief. I bet that guy never forgets that moment.

STUNT I love this story but to be honest I think you like writing a good moviescript and this is one of them.

I once helped a guy into the healing waters of Lourdes in his wheelchair, when he tried to get out after i pushed him through the water he fell flat on his face, however i did notice the wheelchair had two brand new tyres on.

Well, then I'm happy for you and Kwon is happy for me for being happy for you :)
