I know people who swear by the second one.

Nesspresso is great, but the cups average about a buck a cup, which is expensive for home coffee.

I use SF Bay coffee and it's only 25-28 bucks on amazon for 80 k cups.

But if you're just starting out, Peets and Starbucks at costco are fine.

I like Aldi's fair trade dark and medium roast.  No artifical flavors, dyes, etc....just pure coffee and its only 3.99 a bag.

Brew it with a stovetop moka pot and you're in business

Almost invested in a coffee company a while back.

Surprised to learn the largest coffee producing country wasnt Columbia or anywhere in Africa, it was Vietnam. And Vietnam is typically a tea drinking nation. However "vietnamese coffee" is unique (in the way its served, not grown).

Honest question. If this thread were titled "Wine Drinkers," would you have almost invested in a vineyard a while back, too?

Nope.

Sorry if people like you have never done shit and think anybody who's done something you havent must be lying.

Somebody posts a thread about something i have a related experience with and it jogs my memory and i comment. What the fuck is so hard to understand? Around the same time as the coffee i also had 2 little oil wells in Oklahoma to consider. Didnt get involved with any of them. This was when oil was 120+ and coffee futures were way up because of weather projections predicting a record low production year. So they were all opportunities i considered.

People like you sound like if they were told the earth was round youd call the person a liar because youve never seen otherwise.

A 30k investment in a share of a coffee producer is a whopper?  Its like playing telephone with 1 person with people like you.

People like you remind me of riding in a car with somebody from the midwest when they see some "kid" under 30 in a c-class benz and them making a comment "somebody took mommy & daddys car out for the night"... Don't buy refill cups...they are not good for the environment and way too expensive.  If you have to use a K-Cup, use a refillable.

SFBay "k-cups" are biodegradable mesh.

People like me are mostly entertained by your Walter Mitty tales. So the reality card probably shoulda been left unplayed, as it's self-defeating. Apologies.

And BRAVO! on the no-coffee telephone playing with the 30x3 C-Class whatsit and the midwest kid. Well done, sir. People like me ("the 100%" has a nice ring) wish only that you keep 'em coming.

Money wasnt mine. Was investor money when i ran the investment fund.

"Kid" in the c class wasnt me. I wouldnt drive a c class. Rather have a prenowned e class. Rather have a prenowned s class than a new e class... Unless its a new E43.

Back to coffee... Few yrs ago i really droppednthe ball on investing in green mountian.. Even if just calls/puts on GMCR. That was years after shutting down the previous investment stuff however.

Always wanted to own a small chunk of soil in Pinar del Rio, one of the tobacco-rich Cuban provinces. Not to make money so much, I just wanna hang out and smoke cigars. And watch 'em work, I find the process fascinating. Cigars are a beautiful thing.

It'd be extra cool visiting Hemingway's pre-Castro Cuba of the 40s and 50s. Live on the beach, fish for marlin. Write crappy short stories, then hit the cantina. Same thing every day, it'd be perfect.

Never considered cuba. Good friend of mine, alfonso, old school fella only 46 but looks 66, from cuba. "Escaped" about 20yrs ago. Lived/lives in miami and owned/owns a flooring company doing marble/granite floors amdnstufd and also a truck driver (got caught with a pound& a half coke in a fender of a truck he was driving.. Actually didnt know it was there/wasnt his truck. Gotta year in prison)... Says Cuba absolutely sucks and if he got deported he'd leave again even with obamas changes. His english sucked. He's where i learned a lot of my spanish which is why a lot of my spanish is with cuban words rather than Mexican despite me running a business outbof mexico forna long time, growing up in SoCal and having mexican gfs. Had stories for days smuggling cuban cigars to the dominican republic and putting D.R. rings i
On them to sell in the u.s. .. Whixh i didnt know was a common practice. Apparently there's a lottanrussians innxuba still, especially in the military and around bases (everybody has to serve in the military or go to prison). Alfonso actually looked more russian than cuban.. Didnt look cuban at all. Was my height 6ft/6'1" 220+lbs buzzedngreynhair and blue eyes/white skin. Lol.. Even spoke russian a lil.

Anyways... Says cuba sucks. Plenty of other countries in that area id rather live in or visit.

Supposed to be something special about this soil, but I think local climate might have more to do with it.

(Because when they transplant(ed) both leaf and soil in the nearby Dominican, and it still doesn't taste quite Cuban ...)

Totally possible. Im not familar with tax laws or immigration details (legal or not) or cost of living in areas around there (dutch vs british owned islands.. Aruba for example).. Or puerto rico (still u.s. but a shithole) d.r. Jamaica or wherever, but living in any of those places is totally possible. Fuck Hemingway and living his stoey... Why not create your own?

Succeed or fail, at least you'll have a story to remember and tell when you're 60... Or in jail. Lol. That's how I've always liked at things since i was 16-17 or so anyway.

Many do. Like i said eaelier, my Cuban buddy talked about how.cigars with no rings/bands/labels are shipped by boat to the D.R. and banded as Dominicans.just gotta know which ones. I wasn't all that interested at the time sincenthe price was about the same ($30ish vs. $40ish for a cohiba or Monte Cristo...id rather have a Romeo y Julieta)

My favorite actually isn't Cuban, either; though those I've had were mostly delicious. Almost a buttery flavor, if such a word applies.

But this Fuente Chateau Natural is my new best ever cigar: 4.5x50, about $4 each online. Dominican Republic - burns slow, ridiculously smooth, tastes fantastic. First draw to the last.
