I love and respect bodybuilding, and wish it could become more mainstream. However when I see something like this, it's like one big giant step backwards:

(Sorry I've never been able to figure out how to post videos on this site; all I can do is a link.)

What would becoming more mainstream accomplish?
Not that it will ever happen, but how would it change things for you?

It's a cult for the young and weirdos with a strong homosexual aura - basically an entertaining niche.

Becoming more mainstream would bring more money into the sport. One of the biggest tragedies of competitive bodybuilding is that there's no money in it. Also by becoming more mainstream that would bring in more competitors, and a respect for bodybuilders and the whole bodybuilding endeavor.
I will agree this video is some funny, and it really is not 'a giant step' backwards. But still, when attached to bodybuilding a lot of the mainstream public would look at this and think what a weirdo.
