it's because in the US they pay (as a percentage of gdp) far more on health care than all the other nations of the developed world that do have universal care.  yet in US still they still have a large proportion of people that don't have any health coverage.

i'm not american either but i would have thought the answer to your question is pretty obvious

not really, nothing about the bloated behemoth of american government institutions is obvious, tbf
