Tbh Holloway is a top fighter, he can take serious punishment, has insane cardio, good on the ground and a dangerous striker. Aldo is done now, can't see him fighting again in the ufc. Holloway v Edgar next and it'll be a big test for max but he's 25 and the future so hopefully he wins. Next ufc will be good, 213

aldo is only 30. but he's been doing this for a long time. he's still dangerous. he hit holloway with some solid shots. i just felt he wasnt moving very well, easy to hit, stiff, no kicks he was basically a boxer in there for three rounds throwing combinations of 2 or 3.

Yes I can understand not throwing leg kicks against edgar in his last fight as he's a wrestler who could've caught them and taken him down but holaways weakness against Pettis, lamas, etc was his tendency to take a lot of leg kicks. You seem to be clued in on mma, do you think usada testing has had an effect on Brazilian fighters?  I mean rda went from a killer champion to a loser, barao is a nobody now, Aldo is not the same, jds is a punching bag, and Anderson and machida (two guys you would've bet your house on werent juicing) got caught

Conor McGregor took Aldos soul.

Never the same after that.

Holloway is a GREAT fighter, that has it all, beside looks that is.

But great striking, range, cardio, can take a hit, is scrappy and even good on the ground.

Also got a wife with a phat ass.

If the Mayweather vs McGreagor fight gets signed it will be 200 million for Mayweather and the 100 million going to Conor will be mainly going to the UFC.

Nope.   http://thesportsdaily.com/mma-manifesto/ufc-212-fighter-salaries-reebok-attendance-gate/
That states the figures Walter posted are the money they got off reebok only. Your link shows Aldo for instance got $400,000 to show up, $50,000 fight of the night bonus and $40,000 reebok sponsorship

My bad I knew something was off.

Would be great to see McGreagor and Holloway square off.

UFC is going down. The fighters HATE Dana White and it shows by them defecting to Bellator. Roy Nelson just signed with them this week.

Agreed.

I give it 2-3 more years before most of their top talent goes to Bellator.

Now that a few of them have dipped their toes in Bellator's pond, I think many of the bigger names will finish out their contracts and test out the water as well.

Now that IMG owns the UFC, the nature of the company has drastically changed. Dana is really a puppet and has very little influence the way he once did. Yes, he can still call shots, but gone are the days where Dana made all decisions with the Fertittas cheering him on. Now, if Ari Emmanuel doesn't think a decision makes sense, Dana shuts the fuck up and follows along. I'm sure Emmanuel kept him on to serve as the proverbial punching bag between him (Emmanuel) and the fighters. Notice how all the fighters still like to call out Dana on social media, but Dana is not as quick to response, let alone retaliate the way he used to before.

"1"

P.S. It can all change if IMG does right by the sport and keeps to what made the UFC fun for all fans. Not these bullshit matchups simply made to gather quick money.

And what role do you believe drug testing is playing this downward spiral of the UFC?  I think about half of 200 original main event fighters have been caught at one time or other and now USADA is on the prowl. Bellator thus far has not been big on testing and doesn't hold a lot of events in Vegas which would subject fighters to NAC testing.

I'm surprised Jones hasn't made the move already (maybe contractual obligation to UFC).

dont know that much about steroids, but i reckon it do matter as far as being able to train more/harder, recover better/faster, cutting weight etc.

but as far as brazilians loosing one has to remember who they lost to, they're title holdes or title contenders - rda against alvarez and ferguson, aldo against conor and holloway. barao twice against tj and against stephens. jds is just think he got a suspect chin these days, not just that he got hit but the way he acted in that fight, almost like he's going in there against the doctors orders.

that roy nelson (7 losses in his last 10 fights) move to bellator is hardly a sign that ufc is on the decline...
