Title: You wanna know about fighting?DOnt ask fighters!Ask bodybuilders!!
Post by: Darren Avey on June 29, 2017, 08:14:38 AM
They know best about fighting! Seems having pumped up biceps and being a bloated freak makes you all knowing about combat sports! All the fighters I know, be it personally or famous ones quoting say Mcgregor has NO CHANCE.
Yet loads of bodybuilders say Mcgregor wins and easily!

Thank the Lord for these bloated pumped up meatballs to tell people of other professions they are wrong!

Good point Darren.

A bodybuilding forum is a great place to discuss MMA . A place like this has expert mods who can discuss the topic in-depth, Whizzo, a former mod on the MMA board, can dig from his vast resources and knowledge to really break down the contestants.

But this doesn't answer the age old question, how would Tyson do in da cage?

Well Bas Rutten said Tyson would beat all of them in da cage. And he knows more about combat sports than fucking bodybuilders

D what bodybuilder have you asked about fighting?

Because if you haven't asked Dorian or  Flex or Ronnie you will look like a moron.

Why is Tyson talking about MAMA? He's never been in da cage.

Seems the included McGregor is allowed to use the Superman punch in the contract. Also read somewhere that McGregor is also allowed to use one MMA glove or some shit. That I don't quite believe. I also don't see why a Superman punch would not be allowed in boxing normally. Although I'm not a boxer and haven't followed boxing since I was probably 12 years old

'Superman' punch is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I can't believe anyone would actually try and put that stipulation in a contract. There's nothing preventing a boxer from throwing that shot in the first place - it's just that it's a ridiculous, lunging shot that puts you off balance and wide open to a counter punch if it's used in a boxing ring. I no longer really pay any attention to sports or follow boxing much at all, but I was a good boxer when I was younger and trained on a full-time team. We had an 'MMA' guy in the gym who asked our coach about why more people don't throw these 'superman' punches in the ring, so our coach had him attempt to land the shot in sparring and it resulted in him getting countered hard every time.

This bout is a farce, and if McGregor is even able to land a shot against Floyd then it's because Floyd is carrying him through the fight in order to lessen the outrage that will inevitably follow once casual fans realise they've been scammed again. McGregor would not even beat a top-ranked amateur in a boxing match, in my opinion.

Superman punch is usually following a high kick or a feinted kick so I'm not sure how it's apply in boxing. Is love to see Connor feint a couple high kicks though.. Just to fuck with that illiterate monkey

They're also using 10oz gloves. Thought lighter classes used 8oz?? I dunno. Still seems small. Smallest I've used were an ex gfs 12oz & they felt light compared to my 16oz fairtex bag gloves and 16oz twins sparring gloves feel like pillows. I still like to see them use 4oz lol and see the raisin hide behind those

The more muscles you have like Ronnie Coleman, the better fighter you are.

Boxers can sometimes argue over the weight of the gloves during contract negotiations. 8oz is the norm for the lighter weight classes but if you've got a champion making demands and he knows he's facing a puncher then it's likely he'll try and demand the 10oz gloves. Some of the professional gloves are brutal, though. I've tried most of them on and the Everlast MX gloves and the Cleto Reyes feel as though they have nothing over the knuckle area; you can break your hands using those gloves on a heavy bag. The Grant gloves are generally more padded but there's really not that much padding on a pro boxing glove. The majority of it is over the metacarpal and thumb area as it's prone to fracturing when blocking shots.

ive only tried Cletos twice and both were laceups ironically since one were a broken in pair they belong to do a buddy of mine and the other pair I got from Title Boxingnwhen they shipped me the wrong package when I ordered some cheap pink gloves 4 one of my clients to hit the pads with, not really thinking shit I should have kept those and sold them and gotten six pairs of the pink ones for all my clients LOL or a new pair of Thai pads anyways. But Took'em to the gym once before returning them and just did some ligjt sparring.. I thought thecletos werenprerty soft and thought they destroyed it in the bag. No xlue what  either pair was but indidntnxare for'em. Up until recently I didn't even know glove size was something Fighters could agree on and I even thought the gloves were provided bye the promoter in professional boxing matches like Pride or ufc or Wed LOL. Just thought d €€)

Nevermind... Thinking back they were Leones not cletos. Get the mexican and Italian ones missed up. Never used Cletos except for the spare pair the gym I trained at in LA while I was in rehab. Those were well worn and broken in though.
