Those of you who have really been inside. I know its full of nutters, there must ve been some who would ve wanted to try Tyson. I only heard one story about some huge drug lord trying it on with Tyson, Tyson hit him and the guy laughed.
-
For a variety of reasons, I suspect nobody opened Iron Mike's fart locker. :o
-
Stupid thread is stupid.
-
ESFitness.
-
Was in rehab with one of his cousins in november. Said he was an arrogant dick and a bully to everybody, family included.
-
ESfitness had a cell right across from Tyson.
-
Tyson actually lost about 75% of his prison boxing fights. Its ironic that at this time the prisoners in the Indiana penitentiary were actually the best fighter/boxers in the world.

We Hoosiers are badasses................ ........................ .........not really, we are pussies like everyone else. :-[

dont confuse iron mike with iron man.
-
Yes I'm sure they did.Always someone tougher.Just cause they aren't famous boxers etc...don't mean they won't whoop his ass.

Lame thread. Who cares.

You're trolling right?
You think there were tougher guys than Tyson in his prison?
Do you also think if Bill Kazmier was imprisoned during his peak of strongman that there would have been stronger guys locked up?
He was in the prime of his career. There was no one in that prison that could beat him in a straight fight. There were only a handful of men on the planet at that time who could beat him.
He was the most feared man on the planet at the time, and don't give me the old line that guys in prison had no fear because if that were true they'd have been shot dead not imprisoned.

Fight him in a straight fight?
Why would they do that, they would just shank him while he was taking a shit.
Im sure we will have someone along shortly to explain all this in great detail with actual real life experiences.
-
I'm sure there were plenty of people looking to make a name for themselves by taking out the heavyweight champ.
I'm a big Tyson fan but a few inmates armed with shanks & the element of surprise could certainly do some damage.
-
Obviously someone could shank him. And a cop with a gun would win to. I thought the question was a fight among "tough guys"not a murder.
In prison riots everyone is vulnerable from inmates to guards.
-
Tyson learned how to fight on the streets of Brooklyn, not in a gym...............he would handle anyone with relative ease in his prime in prison.
Plus the fucker was nutz!!

Ok, serious question:
You honestly believe that some prisoner could beat a prime Tyson boxing in the ring?
You really think some prison lifter can break all the world powerlifting records?

Rehab?? Didn't you claim not to even drink?

Lol no and that was my point

Ok, got ya ;)
Cracks me up how some many ex-cons glorify the
potential greatness of prisoners.
Obviously a small % might be decent prize fighters or strong lifters.
BUT they act like being in prison makes them better.

This. Thread over.
Is it just me or does Darren Avey have some kind of Yuson schmoe fetish, like if MIke was really broke, he would offer to wrestle him naked in a motel room

Darren, you still haven't responded to my offer to pay you to let getbig film a group of black men having sex with you.
Did you still want that $100?
And what does "bring them around Tulisa's flat" mean?
-

I'd be surprised if any prison in the US still has boxing. I also seriously doubt Tyson would participate in boxing in prison and risk injury when he can make 20 or 30 million dollars in the real world and a fight..
Also its unlikely anybody would bother fighting Tyson. They're more likely to buy him a box of cookies and listen to his stories.
Anything to the contrary is just fools repeating their fantasy about what they see on tv.

You really believe he was the toughest man on the planet?try going out in the back country in Russia and tell me you don't find a someone who could rip him apart in a fight.I met a guy about 15 years ago who worked out in his home gym 5'11 275 ish and I saw him bench 585 for 6 smooth reps.Guess what you have never heard of him.So yes there are stronger and tougher.and no I'm not saying the stronger guy is tougher just an example of a strong guy you never heard of.

Some of you people forget that fighting is a perishable skill. Nobody is "born" to fight. Its a set of skills that are developed. Tyson TRAINED. there's not a guy in prison that TRAINS like Tyson trains and has had the consistent coaching that Tyson has had by the time he went to prison. It's pretty damn foolish and really shows somebody's ignorance of what it takes to be a fighter whether it's boxing or MMA to really believe that somebody who's been imprisoned for years and hasn't fought in a real fight would be able to give Tyson trouble. Fights in prison are usually three or four punches total on both sides before somebody's either knocked out or it's broken up by guards. To see the otherwise really shows your ignorance meaning it shows you don't know what you're talking about. There's nobody in some Backcountry Siberia those trained daily buy some of the best coaches in the world and sparred against adequate sparring partners if not great and sparring partners consistently for years the weight Tyson had. You ever heard of ring rust? What compare the ring rust enticing not fighting for 6 months or a year and compare that ring rust to somebody who has probably never fought or trained for an actual fight. Being "stuff" doesn't equate skill and itndoesnt trump experience.

Of course there were guys who could beat Tyson, Buster Douglas did and Razor Ruddick gave him all he could handle. There wasn't anyone in that prison who was going to beat him in a fist fight.
I'm delusional because I say the best boxer in the world, someone who devoted and trained his whole life to be good at one particular skill plus had natural God given gifts, would beat any non professional fighter on the planet....... Whatever dude. Vic Richards would have beaten Dorian if he would have entered the contests.

There might be someone "tougher" whos experienced more hardships and destitute living conditions. But that alone wont equal Tysons natural gifts and trained skills.
I have a work out partner, similar size as the guy you mentioned, who has benched 545 for 6 reps with ease. His squat numbers are even more impressive. Biggest strongest dude I know. He's never done a powerlifting meet but I guarantee you he wouldn't win a national event without training for it.
I went to NAS nationals with him and he didnt win. Mike Jenkins was at nationals that year and he didnt win either. Interestly enough no one just showed up to the show and won, the dude who won was an actual competitor.
I get what you're saying but you're being over the top. It's like saying the best high school qb is better than Tom Brady right now.

Every member of Kazmaier's entire cell block each individually broke his WSM 1124 lbs Hungarian Farm Cart Deadlift record. So, yes, Tyson was probably beaten up routinely.

This is the Victor Richards myth, that if he chose to compete he'd destroy them all. It was bull shot peddled by and sold to idiots.
Where I was we had a guy who used to spar with Larry Holmes. He was one of the tougher guys and had a couple of boxing matches under his belt (I think pro, maybe amateur). But he lost 1 or 2 and was nowhere in the league of a real pro. It's a myth that these junkies and undisciplined lazy fucks are somehow hiding great world class athletes in their midst.

That being said, MMA isn't boxing. There are probably dudes out there, that would put the lights out of many people.
Sometimes it isn't about "talent", or how many hours you put in with a "team". It's about the killer instinct. You can't be afraid of losing.
-
i'm sure plenty messed with him
joe rogan said when chuck liddell and brock lesnar go out there is always some wannabe tough guy that says to them "i'm not afraid of you"

Wrong. A boxer with skills like Tyson who has practiced and practiced and practiced those skills and don't drill after drill so that moves Combos and faints are second nature and muscle memory takes over will never never never lose to somebody who lacks skills and only has a Killer Instinct. Because I Killer Instinct (and I don't know what the hell makes you think Tyson didn't have a killer instinct and bloodlust) means absolutely nothing when a guy is uncoordinated, sloppy,& slow with absolutely no timing to the punches or attacks.

Anything to the contrary is just fools repeating their fantasy about what they see on tv.
Oh the irony!
-
but isnt there a difference between a boxer and a street fighter
maybe tyson would be scared in a street fight, i remember him saying he was scared.
-
I'm sure plenty of getbiggers can bench 500 for reps and go toe to toe with Tyson in his prime...
-
This is a great thread by Darren. I can't tell who is trolling here.
People are convinced that Mike Tyson, who at the time was the best heavyweight boxer in the world, was bullied and beaten in prison.
And in the almost 30 years that have past since then not ONE story has emerged that documents this. Not even one inmate has attempted tell this type of story.
We also have a group of people that believes the best athletes in the world don't compete in sports.
Lavar Ball was telling everyone his son is better than Steph Curry, which isn't far fetched because here we'd say the best basketball player in the world probably plays in a rec league in Alaska.
And by the way American prison isn't really like an episode of OZ.
-
well let me put this straight:
1. fighting in boxing and outside of boxing isnt the same thing, tyson in a arranged boxing fight in prison would win against anybody, tyson getting attacked outta nowhere wouldnt necessarily win.
2. its surely possible that there's people out there who COULD be the best in the world in a sport, but they either compete in a different sport already or they dont compete at all, but they surely have the genetics for it. think about the worlds population, how many africans could do well in certain sports if they had the opportunity, coaches, training facilities etc.

COULD BE.
Michael Jordan was considered the best basketball player, and athlete, in the world when he played. And when he walked away to play baseball after a 20 year layoff he wasn't close to being an average player let alone the best. And when he came back to basketball, after being away from the league for 18 months, he was shortly proven to be the best in the world again. No one closed the gap in his time away.........
Lebron James could be the best player in the NFL. He's not. Ironically he's also considered to be one of the best athletes on the planet so it's not far fetched to think a great athlete would be great at another sport.
Connor verus Floyd. This fight will be an interesting case study for the getbig theory. Connor is a great fighter Floyd is a great boxer.
COULD Tyson have been shanked in prison? Yes. But he wasn't. The question was did anyone mess with Tyson in prison. The answer, 30 years later, is no.
A street fight? You don't think a no name prisoner would have been more scared of MIKE TYSON than Mike was of them, even with a knife? Had anyone talking about these street fights actually stabbed someone? I've been in my share of confrontation and I've never had a knife pulled and if I did Id run.
Real sports aren't like bodybuilding where only a small percentage of people compete.
For the record a man with a knife, bat, crow bar, brick or gun beats Tyson from 1990. But if it's a bare knuckle fight no one stands a chance.
Also would you please provide an example of a time when a PROFESSIONAL boxer was beaten up in a fight.
-
stupid thread and stupid responses. is there people in prison that could beat tyson in a street fight? very probably. but bullies tend to look for easy targets and no one is going to see tyson as an easy target. so is it likely that people messed with tyson in prison? pretty unlikely
-
people fight with bouncers all the time, would bouncers be considered easy targets?
-
people fight with bouncers all the time, would bouncers be considered easy targets?
Great example.
COULD Mike Tyson beat a bouncer in a street fight?
As a former bouncer I know it's only the best of the best and the absolute toughest guys in the world who do this job.

Thanks for your input. You re the guy who reckons people would shit themselves if they met you! I don't shit myself when I see world class fighters in London Shootfighters so I don't think id shit myself when I see some bloated bodybuilder!

not bloated and not a bodybuilder....but yeh you're definitely the type that would mess your pants if you came close to a physical altercation with anyone.

It's worse and better than Oz.
All of these foolish notions come from people with no real experience in anything, never been in a realfight with another man, never accomplished anything hard, never played any sports at a high level. We've just recently had the McEnroe comment that many were willing to opine on based on absolutely no knowledge or experience whatsoever. My favorite was the Ronda Rousey could beat Floyd Mayweather group.
"Says who?" "Based on what evidence?" and "How do you know that?" are three questions that need to be drilled into people to ask these days.
-
gayve pee laying out some massive truths in this here thread
-
people fight with bouncers all the time, would bouncers be considered easy targets?
yeh but most of those tend to be drunk and in 9 out 10 cases of bouncers fighting it tends to be them just beating the sht out people rather than a "fight".
in prison (in the UK at least) there's really very few actual fights and most of the aggro is just bullies picking on the weak. not likely tyson would fall into that category.
-
Also I'm not talking boxing match,I'm talking a big bad anal raping convict who don't give a fuck.Just a brawler who don't give a fuck where rules don't matter.Anything goes, yes I 100% think Tyson could be beat.Anyone can be beaten on any given day.
-
Can't tell if most of you ( especially you Robcguns ) are trolling.
We're talking about Mike Tyson in his prime here. We're not talking about fucking Peter Pan. The man was barely human. Was just simply a force. Still is in some aspects.

You really think in the whole planet he was the toughest man ever?Boxing with gloves on verse just a fucking gnarly ass street fighter.Thats like thinking there is no one bigger or stronger than the worlds strongest man,I will say it one more time. There is always someone bigger and stronger and tougher and it does not end at mike Tyson.simple as that. This is my opinion.
I don't think the best race car driver is driving race cars,I don't think the strongest bench presser is in bench press contest,I don't think the best pitcher is in the MLB,I don't think the best hockey player is in the nhl.Not everyone gets a chance to showcase their skills nor does everyone want to.

I don't care how fucking tough you are, nothing replaces skill, talent and conditioning like pro boxers have, NOTHING

Kimbo Slice was considered the great street fighter.
He took up boxing and now he's dead.

This myth has gained traction, I see. True, Tyson spent his very earliest years on the mean streets of New York, but really, how many fights would he have had beyond some shoves, swings and scuffles? Most of his badassery involved petty theft. Running from scenes of his juvenile criminality.

Let me chime in here. I know many trained fighters, martial artists, guys who have won plenty IN THEIR DISCIPLINE. I have trained and competed in kickboxing, boxing, BJJ, and train MMA, and feel like im pretty decent IN THE GYM. But hell, there are definitely guys out there who have never trained a thing in their life who would fuck me up, as well as these other guys I mention that are very good boxers, grapplers etc.
Now I know Mike Tyson was an elite boxer, and not just some good amateur or pro, but I still have no doubt that theres plenty of people out there who could've taken him out.
I would even go as far as saying someone of his size who knew a bit of high school wrestling could've taken him down and pounded him out. And I say all this as a Tyson fan.
-
Do you think anyone wanted to mess with Tyson in prison?
They don't put celebs in general for that purpose. It's not an issue of whether you can kick ass or not. Who wants to be on guard 24/7.

Rob,ask Mitch Green about Tysons street fighting prowess!! ;)

Rob,ask Mitch Green about Tysons street fighting prowess!! ;)
In which mike broke his hand. Not easy to land Precision strikes with the first 2 knuckles to the chin jaw or Temple in a street fight with an adrenaline dump. An untrained guy who's a mesomorph and has a good amount of fast twitch fibers and explosive movements , with genetically large bone structure and muscled hands may get lucky and may naturally throw punches with their hips and lower body generating force from the balls of their back foot making their strikes pass through the opponents jaw like a knife through butter, but all those factors added into 1 human body and that human just happens to be in the do that up n to use those skills are rare.
Its unlikely the top 1% of people genetically gifted with all the traits physically to strike will ever even KNOW they're good strikers.
Just like the top 1% of people who're born with all the traits, genetically, to be great bodybuilders such as the amount of muscle fibers they're born with (such as Ronnie.. Even at his size now, he still has the same NUMBER of fibers/cells, they're just smaller. Just like fat people who lose 200lbs [w/o cutting it off], they still have the same amount of fat cells, they're just smaller. In Ronnie case, he likely grew more fibers via hyperplasia.. Once you grow a new fiber/cell it cannot "die" or disappear, it'll only get bigger or smaller), with the perfect insertions,& "shape" to the muscle, the amount of androgen receptors, etc etc etc... Those people with the perfect genes usually have no clue because they've never tried "bodybuilding". Look at the guys in prison. There's guys who go to prison who have never worked out a day in their life and start working out in prison and all of a sudden look like Rock'em sock'em robots. Those guys would never have known they had the genetics for bodybuilding had they not gone to prison and started training. (Usually they get out and quit training because they never had an interest in training in them first place)

Tyson went to the Indiana youth center I doubt he got in any fights since he was 23 and everyone else was 18.
-
Rob,ask Mitch Green about Tysons street fighting prowess!! ;)
And Mitch "Blood" Green was a very well trained fighter and very large man, who tangled with Tyson on the street and got beat the fuck up!
-
Tyson went to the Indiana youth center I doubt he got in any fights since he was 23 and everyone else was 18.

"Tyson is now locked into his room at 11:30 most nights and awakened by guards at 5 each morning. If he wants to socialize, he can turn only to the prison's 1,400 other offenders (average age 33) who have been convicted of armed robbery (28 percent of the prison's population), theft (22 percent), child molestation (17), drug dealing (12) as well as rape, battery and murder."
