Title: "Dusty" Hanshaw
Post by: ether on July 09, 2017, 03:35:13 PM
Another pro show another bottom 15 placing

He seems like a cool dude but too old for social media success and horrendous
Genetics for BB

Why put his health in jeopardy for a DNP at 5th tier shows?

Would winning shows make ill health worth it?

He claims he simply loves suffering for shredz so why not? :D

Amount of effort he puts into it could be harnessed into any other career for more success,
health and happiness

Yes winning would help

Maybe he's making good money with "fitness" related businesses, I don't know. Didn't he have several supp stores or something?
Anyway, no one competes just for money, it's the worst way to make money. It's an addiction, or love, if you want to sound less negative. Sure, everyone wants to win but many are content with just going through the process and "looking great".

I agree with this but he could do it as a hobby and make more money be more
successful and likely be happier in another profession.

I believe Jon De la rosa is in the same boat.

Dusty was a successful HVAC guy, don't understand why you would quit that

I would never tell anyone what they should do to be happier, I have no idea what success or happiness means to him or anyone else. I do know that bodybuilding hooks some people real hard and they will do anything to continue, some knowingly kill themselves for it. Basically, once a bodybuilder, always a bodybuilder.

For someone who has no chance of being successful at something they need to move on even if it makes them happy. Perfect example is struggling actors or musicians

Agree about the hooked part and would add in delusion

Sure, maybe. But what makes a bb successful? Most pros know they will never win a pro show. How well do you have to place for it to be worth it? I don't think there's a good answer.

I don't know about delusion in this case. He knows his limitations, knows he will never win as a pro. Said he hoped to crack top 10 here, which wasn't impossible.

I'm with Van_B on this one. I thought he was pretty successful with several supp stores. Pretty sure he's got enough money to continue doing this.

Lol yeah dude is hardcore but then takes these selfies with the crooked cap pouting his lips  :D The crooked cap thing looks so stupid to me, kinda like having your pants hanging below your ass... but to each their own I guess.

he's not abusing his health guys. he goes completely off during the offseason and uses food as his main anabolic during contest prep.

Supposedly Aceto pushes this approach, going off or HRT in the off-season. I think it's possible, he doesn't look real jacked up at the start of his diets plus he starts gaining weight. Kamali also claimed Chad required going off and doing a PCT after shows, "Chad wouldn't even talk to me if I didn't".    :D

Of course, once diet is on, he's pushing it hard. How hard I don't know but it's no HRT.

I think you can limit damage this way.
