my young training partner wants a bigger back, so he just finished the Venice beach contest on July 4th, so today was our first back day. started with 6 sets to warm up on close grip pulldowns. went right to one armed rows for 5 sets, ended up with the 120s. next was 5 sets of bent over rows on the smith machine, ending up with three plates. then 5 sets of rack pulls, me with 315, him with 405 for his 10 reps. ( me 60, him 28) finished up with 5 sets of bent over rows from the floor. we were dead and drenched in sweat. Friday will be all machine work, pulldowns from every angle.
should work for him. plus he's on a little sauce.

If you can do 20 sets for back, you are not training hard enough.
