Didn't Oldacre already win his pro card? Why haven't we seen him on pro stage yet?

if Rasheed Oldacre had his conditioning down pat, he'd by all the top 6 at the O and scare Phil. That dude is built like Ronnie.

Yeah ok..lol. You have to be joking

Take a look at Rasheed Oldacre, same type of look, he's almost Ronnie 2.0. The only other person who has that look is Ronnie's half brother Corey Mathews, and maybe Stephen Frazier.

Corey is Ronnie's half brother? That explains why Corey has Tunza Muscle.

Is this a true story though?
StaynPositive!

Was wondering the same thing. Is the guy gonna compete this year. Should be able to do some damage in a lower teir show.

Yeah, but I think that they share the same mother. Who knows.

Forgot all about him. Tall and has great arms... rare combo.

Outside of that dorky looking face that he pulls, and that noggin, look at his chest. Similar chest shape to Ronnie.

Some GetBiggers actually feel that bodybuilding is dead or headed to the grave, but this weekend here in LV just might prove that those somewhat morbid GetBiggers are definitely wrong.
And since Ron is here with his camera and gregarious attitude he will be contributing to the proof that bodybuilding and everything associated with bodybuilding is pretty damn "healthy" regardless of its 'concept' which could possibly be otherwise depending upon who is analyzing that particular part of today's NPC/IFBB endeavors.
So yesterday (Thursday) Ron and his faithful sidekick camera was present as the competitors commenced to gather for the weigh-ins.
I'm not good at estimating 'numbers' in a crowded environment but I will offer a wild guess that there will be more than 700 contenders on that USA stage this weekend.
And they sure as hell ain't attending a funeral!
I showed up at the weigh-in site for about 10 minutes to pay my respects to the "boss" and others before heading off to find a casino which would take my bet that Mayweather wold knock out McGregor at the 2 min 45 second mark of the 1st round. (So far .... no success which may be possible due to the fact that it may be impossible to compute the odds of the fight ending at exactly that moment of time).
And I'm hoping to continue this topic in the way I see it ... when I see it ... and possibly include some pictures along the way.
But that ain't gonna happen until Saturday due to prior obligations that prevent me from attending today's Friday morning prejudging.
BTW & unrelated... There's a squatter setting up a squatter's camp on the LV Raider's stadium vacant lot. In some states that would cause a major problem but so far he seems to be enjoying the outdoor desert life in this !00+ degree heat.
"Stand by to stand by" .... A few noteworthy words that some of you old time JarHeads may remember ...
As well as .... "Hurry up ... and wait!"
Semper Fi! Do or die!

My friend stunt,
You're assessment here is completely spot on. Bodybuilding is about as dead as the internet is dead.
I think I've written on other threads, or if I haven't I will write it here, that overall competitive bodybuilding has never been bigger than it is today. There are more total contests and competitors all over the world than ever before. Anybody that thinks otherwise is out of touch with modern bodybuilding reality.
What has happened is that bodybuilding has changed. Today there are multiple categories, not just the open men's. You have the 212 class, men's physique, men's classic physique, and then there are all the women's categories. Say what you will, anybody that competes in any of these categories is a "bodybuilder."
Some will say the Mr Olympia contest is dead. What it may be in this current era, because Phil Heath is so genetically gifted, is that no one can come razor close to matching him. Hence the result is a not very anticipated or exciting Mr Olympia contest.
-
Hey Stunt,
are there still tons of creepy schmoes walking around those shows with cum stained courderoy pants and polaroids?
-
Most of the crowd is for the non-bodybuilding divisions. Bodybuilding is indeed dying, of not already dead. Don't play dumb.
-
No, Bodybuilding is not dead at all .... over 110 competitors just in mens bodybuilding here at the NPC USAs in Vegas. Prejudging, day one is done, and tomorrow, prejudging continues, starting at 9am. Classic physique (old school bodybuilding) is also taking off we have close to 100 competitors here in Vegas.

But how many are competing in physique, classic physique, bikini....... those are keeping bbing relevant
-
Just returned from the USA Classic Physique, and the plain old Physique, and the ladies contest and now I finally realize that sitting in a crowded auditorium for five hours can be a bit boring (but not entirely) unless you have a family member, a good friend, or a fellow gym member competing up there on that stage.
And today was the first time in my life when I knew absolutely no one who was competing.
So I sat up front and shot photos with my trusted Nikon of contenders whom I never realized existed until I snapped their picture.
So here are some thoughts that I 'thunk' during them thar five hours of everyone doing the same thing over and over.
The first thought I "thunk" is that those NPC judges do a hell of a good job without wasting time and it's interesting to see how they line up the eventual and potential winners to see which contenders will place damn high or pretty damn low.
The biggest thing I 'thunk' that impressed me as I sat there watching my first classic event since the early 70's (when there was no need to even call it a classic event) was that these present-day classic bodybuilding contenders seemed so damn neat and tidy wearing clean cut 'shorts' that would be welcome within any family gathering as opposed to the multi-colored thongs that seem to be so damn popular today and are welcomed almost no-where by GetBiggers.
Another though that I think I 'thunk' was that the audience was appreciative but lacked the hell raising response that they always seem to offer to the bigger contenders who enter the bodybuilding events.
Maybe that's because those bigger guys can be seen better from the cheaper seats in the back where those who yell a lot are most likely seated.
Or maybe it's just because the more robust fans simply do not appreciate the contenders who look like they just finished playing beach volleyball or looked like they just stepped off one of the pages of one of Welder's 1960's publications.
It's never easy to understand the real cause of an audience's reaction to what's going on up there on that stage.
But for the most part it did appear that each and every neat and tidy classic contender deserved to be up there on that stage while hitting muscle shots in respectable posing ware.
But ... It was very evident among the Physique contenders that the 'young bulls' came home .... but the calves remained in the barn and never did appear on that stage.
You will be noticing that once some Physique photos get posted.
Now its time to add some pictures but I can't find that thing that you put the thing in that fits in that slot that it's supposed to fit into .... so maybe Ron will fill in and do that until I find that thing.
Hey, RON! Good seeing ya!
-
Photos of just a very few of the hundreds who competed on stage for men's classic and physique, 2017 USA Championships ....
Classic competitors. Very similar to pre 1975 bodybuilding.

More shots taken at random.
-
Neat trunks. All the same color.
Sorry , but the pics are too large to post more than one each time.

Most of the class winners were very cool, and congratulated others on their win. I also took video (behind the scenes). It was freaking hot that Sunday and humid, and by the time 1:30 rolled around, you can last about 15-20 minutes out there before going back inside the hotel or under some shade.
The camera and the lens got so hot, I swear the glue started to melt from one of the rubber holds....

Sad that the guys in shorts have the better muscle quality than the bodybuilders.
