I feel sorry for Joe Paterno. He was an old man at the end of his career. He was juggling a lot of balls running a major football program. Someone came up to him and said one of your staff is suspected of being a pedo and he brushed it aside running the team. Yes, he was wrong in doing nothing but give him a play he was a few years from dying from old age.

He was a legend among football fans and players and now he's a legend for turning his head the other way when he could have stopped it.
You can't say he was unaware of what was going on because he was frail, old and naive yet sing his priases as he was the "ceo" of an elite football program.

even sadder about this situation is how much of this has been going on for the last 100 years to this day in all sports, entertainment, politics and media which is a hell of alot of "Don't ask nor acknoeledge, everything is fine" attitude out there

an 85 year old man should not be running anything let alone a college football program, should've been forced to retire 15 years earlier
