Yes....Waller won the 1976 Mr. Olympia Heavyweight class. Only 1 other competitor in class and that was Mike Katz. Waller obviously lost to Franco for overall. Very hard to find much more than 1 or 2 pics from that show. Too bad....as it looks like Waller looked huge and in great shape. Would love to see comparisons with Franco during class posedown at end. Here is all that I could find.

And against only Katz in the heavies.
-
He was at the right place at the right time - no Arnold, Sergio, Serge, or Louie. Beating Zane is impressive though.
-
Rumor is Waller hid Katz shirt.

waller didnt technically "beat " zane. he went against franco who beat zane. they had over 200lb class and under 200 pound class. those winners went against each other. inn all likely hood if it was all open like now zane would of beaten waller. i think there was only one point difference between franco and zane( i think not sure) i know it was very very close.

Best pic I have ever seen of Waller here. From 1972.
-
apparently he contest prepped on a bucket of kfc chicken with the skin removed lol
-
And by '81 he had a badly torn biceps and looked pretty bad... never recovered

You are right, it very hard to find many shots of this contest. MUSCLE BUILDER & POWER had very little coverage. I always wanted to see the pics of Zane, he looked incredible.

All I ever see in any of these threads is how xyz bodybuilder should have, could have, would have beat so and so if only...well here it is, They Didnt!!!!!, so get over yourselves.
Bodybuilding shows give the placings accordingly to whom was the best/worst THAT DAY! Not based on "What ifs" a bunch of fan boys who weren't even there nor were even alive when the show(s) took place like to put their non expertise despite never haviung competed themselves.
Ken waller was the best in the judges eyes that day and was heavyweight Mr O winner, period.
Fuck what placing Zane could have or should have had, he was in a different division, there is no debate, period.

no shirt sherlock
I'm praising KING ZANE ya pea brain

I liked his build in Pumping Iron, and could honestly say it would be attainable for me and I would have no problem looking like that in public. Arnold and Lou, while very impressive, is not a look I would feel comfortable having.

Wallers as a walking about physique would be awesome.

I hear ya. On that note....I thought that 3rd place Universe finisher in Pumping Iron....Paul Grant from Wales...looked the best that day. Very very underrated bodybuilder. One of the best physiques ever. Great walking around physique.

Some great every-day physiques easy to maintain without a ton of gear in this thread
