Title: Should Women Be Allowed In The Military? Police?
Post by: Fallsview on July 27, 2017, 08:09:24 AM
With all this transgender talk I was wondering what does everyone think about women who serve in the military and the law enforcement? The reason I bring this up is, last week I was watching LivePD and a woman police officer was having a hell of a time restraining another woman. She had to call for the assistance of a male police officer and even after she was cuffed and really not resisting but just moving around, the female police officer was fumbling and bumbling around...even dropping her cuffs until a male came back over. All the times I see female officers on this show, they always have a hell of a time maintaining a person and require a male officer to assistance on a female perp.

Should women have certain roles in these lines of work? Less physical, etc. etc.? I'm neutral on this but would like to know how the rest of you think and how you delivery your arguments.

STAY POSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, as long as they don't lower the standard of the physical requirements/tests.

this isn't the middle ages where brute strength matters for anything. my baby sister did her 3 years in the idf, it doesn't take much to pull the trigger on a tavor

Yes, as long as they don't lower the standard of the physical requirements/tests.

that's the problem. I used to administer these tests and they would have a women set of standards and a men set of standards which was bullshit.  if they can pass the same test as the men then they deserve to be in it.

Apocryphally:

British Condutor Thomas Beecham;
"If you let women into the symphony orchestras,  you will eventually have to let them into the British Army"

The Vienna Philharmonic was one of the last major ensembles to be all male.
