Apparently, everyone knows that when you reply to a text message you've been ignoring with "sorry, just seeing this" , it is a total bullshit excuse. :'( I use this reply at least once a day. Others have used this excuse on me, so up until recently I felt like this was a plausible excuse. I used to have mobile service on t-mobile and occasionally a message would pop up hours after it was timestamped, so there were a few times when this could have ostensibly been true.
What should be my new excuse for replying to texts after ignoring them for several hours/days?

Al feel free to use either of these two in the future: sorry just getting back to this or forgot to respond earlier.

Only a pussie makes excuses. Grab your balls and tell the truth. Or just respond back to the text as though just read it. Who cares so much what the other person is thinking. I do mot always reply back to every text i get. Only women do that shit.

You have an android phone? Maybe an htc model? It is common for some models to do this. Try other phone and see if the same thing happens.

Iphone. It's supposed to be a humorous post about a bullshit excuse that a lot of people use. :P Earlier today, some of my co-workers were joking around about the "just seeing this" excuse. I don't know if it was aimed at me specifically, but among people who have to deal with me by phone/text, I am notoriously bad at responding to texts in a timely manner.

This answer holds good.. ;D ;D

I usually start with...."You're lucky I'm even responding to this stupid shit."

Ah. FYI turn off "read receipts" I do that on iMessage so GF doesn't know I read text if I don't feel like responding. ;D

I get ya here, because in todays world everyone expects a response before the text even arrives lol.
I think the answer lies in taking back the past where we just simply said "I was busy"
