I usually don't care and wear whatever goes with ootd.. but I'm considering picking up some sambas before the adidas price spike effects them.. and I think chucks are so over played

They get put in the washing machine every now and again but I imagine they smell pretty bad, they look absolutely atrocious too as the dog chewed the the back of one.

I wore some wrestling shoes before, not my thing anymore

You just want a flatter hard sole - Adidas, Vans, Converse, even the thin Asics Tigers work well. I also like the Merrell Glove line. I've heard good things about the Nike Metcons, but haven't tried a pair.
For Olympic Lifting or you like squatting with a heel, buy real Olympic Lifting shoes. Adidas is more or less the best choice for most people in terms of price and durability. In a pinch, plain better quality dress shoes or boot will give you the feeling of squatting and benching in a heel.

Those are driving shoes you fool
-
Depends on what kind of leg warmers you're wearing.
A nice thigh cut short with neutral leg warmers and a clean cut high top looks great.
Should turn a lot of heads.
STAY POSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More like Playboy mansion shoes
-
Gayer than having a "leg day".
But, for squatting and DL, prefer socks.
But any flat soled shoes work.
-
These if I think I am going to be able to squat heavy.

These if I think I am going to be able to squat heavy.
The hidden key pocket is required for squat day for sure
-
These when I know my knees aren't feeling it. My gym is in my garage so I wear whatever I want.
-
I forgot they had a pocket! I bought them back in the spring of 2005 when I was still doing the bmx thing. By November I had torn my right shoulder and left knee in a dirt jumping crash. Learned that even though I felt 21 at 35 my body proved otherwise! After the surgeries it was February 2010 before I could workout normally again. Well, as close to normal as I can for being 47 and 5 surgeries later!

great shoe!
Agreed. They've held up incredibly well. Almost look brand new after 2 years of constant use.
-
If you Olympic squat meaning high bar placement and going down upright truly ass to grass you will do better with a shoe meant for Olympic lifting. If you do a power lifting type squat with low bar placement bending over somewhat with a wide stance as you go down then a shoe that's flat is better. Both should be hard soled. Never a running type sneaker.
