Any idea as to how the bulk of these guys qualified?

Looking at the the names of the competitors what a bore fest, the early 2000's was the last of the great years of bbing
-
Only two White bodybuilders qualified for the open? :-X Flex Lewis could have likely qualified for the open had he went that route, but he is doing the intelligent thing and opting to become the champ in the 212-lb class. He would definitely be top 10 in the open, and possibly even top six.
I used to think Black dominance in bodybuilding was pretty clear - consider that since 1984 only Dorian Yates and Jay Cutler won the Mr. Olympia. So a little over 10 years ago before Jay Cutler won his titles, it just seemed clear to me that Hebrews were the superior bodybuilders. In the 33 Mr. Olympia competitions from 1984 through to 2016 inclusive, 10 Mr. Olympia titles went to White champions and 23 went to Black champions.
Then you have the "socioeconomic" argument, but usually such arguments predict very little - it's not like it's hard to find a weight room and lift weights. It would be a little different for something like hockey, where the price of equipment may prevent poor parents from involving their children in the sport.
But this year - damn. Talk about sheer beast domination by Hebrews. A couple more Hebrews, and you would think you were looking at a list of 100 metre sprint competitors. ;D
-
I'm gunna go out on a limb here and say Cheath will win the open and Flex Lewis will win the little people class.
-
Sorry if this is common knowledge - been out of the loop for awhile, but where is Levrone? Wasn't he going to enter again?

He's busy deadlifting

He didn't qualify. He would have had to compete and qualify. No special invites this year.

He's busy deadlifting
Pulling out all the stops to get that thickness. Shaaaabooom.

Most know weider and Arnold were in bed together and weider would do ANY sneaky stunt to keep Arnold on top. No pun intended.. But now Phil is the poster boy for the ifbb, is he in bed with anyone? He is pretty outspoken OR is he legit the best bodybuilder in the world? I see ifbb trying to bury the truths

Are you talking about 25 years ago? Seriously? At the moment, Phil Heath is the best freakish bodybuilder in the world. I wish someone this year would surprise us all and rise up and give Phil a run like Kai did... but we never know.
See you at the O

he doesn't even stand out in the line up....
Front double-bi is literally Heath's worst pose. He's not even in the top 10 best front double-bis. But overall, I gotta say unless Ramy, Cedric, Dex, or Rhoden show up 100% peeled and full, The Gift will take it again.

Why does johnnie Jackson compete in Olympia?I mean the guy has a crazy dense build with huge pecs and traps but just doesn't make sense to keep doing Olympia when you have no chance.

If the only people who had a chance of winning this year entered there would only be Phil onstage.
-
This is how it will go:
1. Phil Heath
2. Dexter Jackson
3. Roelly Winklaar
4. Big Ramy

Kai is not competing this year - to some who do not realize that.
I don't think Kai is a threat anymore, the photos of Beyeke totally owning him in the last show they competed in proves that.
