EPA Chief Scott Pruitt: "Science Shouldn't Dictate American Policy
You know the drill. The head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Scott Pruitt, has been asked about something scientific and has said something ludicrous in response.
Shortly after announcing that he wants climate researchers to “debate” climate deniers on live TV, he gave a characteristically painful interview to a Texas radio show. Just after appearing to endorse peer-reviewed science, he added that “science should not be something that’s just thrown about to try and dictate policy in Washington DC.”

It shouldnt - there are numerous considerations that should take place for any policy.

such as?
also, why wouldn't you consider "science" when you're the head of the Environmental Protection Agency
science comes with the territory

so let's pick a topic like lead in drinking water (or you choose a topic if you prefer)
how would you list the priorities and where, if anywhere, do you think science should fit into the policy
If science doesn't fit it anywhere then we can agree that we simply don't care about any level of lead in drinking water
-
Science has already been thrown out the window with trannies

I didnt say anywhere - it must be in balance with others. "Science" is not the end all and be all.

I hate science.... So I Must Be A Closet Scientist.

Lets take "Climate Change" - according to alarmist liberals - we should all live in tents and shut down industry because of "Science" - well is that realistically gonna happen ever? Regardless of what the "science" claims liberals say it does?

I think science should drive the policy with the other issues you mentioned needing to also be considered in the decision making process.

No thanks - I can't be bothered
( Truth I wouldn't know how to post a link )
As stated already in this thread, there are many who suggest we are destroying this planet
& a return to 'Horse & Cart' type of existence is our only salvation
Are your going to dispute that also, or claim you've never seen or heard that.

no time to watch so just tell me what part of this 9 minute video where Gore says "we should all live in tents and shut down industry" and I'll check it out

I've already said that I've never seen or heard anyone say that
not aware that anyone (much less any valid scientist) has ever suggested that
but if you want to take the time to support your claim with proof I'll definitely check it out an respond back

just did a quick search of the link for the word "tents" but apparently it's not mentioned in the article
just post the link to the scientist saying "we should all live in tents and shut down industry"

Science disproved religion, in order to become a form of religion itself.

Sometimes I wonder about the SAT scores of some in the reading comprehension section. Obviously a deliberate attempt to mislead by the author of the article but even then it contradicts itself. The meaning is obvious when in relation to the rest of the interview.
Even this twisted version has Pruitt wanting a debate between those on both sides of the issue so obviously he doesn't mean science is meaningless, etc. in the way they are trying to convey.
It is simply saying that debateable "science" should not be politicized, etc. Obvious when the rest of the interview is shown and what they were discussing. Cannot take numbers/studies and fudge/leave out others to only shine a favorable light to your side. Hence why he would want a debate. He wouldn't call for that if he didn't believe in science. Article has already been called out for the misleading way his quote was portrayed. Just like racism should not be thrown about so freely.
