This scares ME to death. My wife tells me every day I snore loud and stop breathing then resume. This is how my father passed. I started dieting to drop weight and started following breathing protocols (nasal strips at night, breathing exercises, etc) restorative breathing after training etc.
I am scared. I'm scared to go to sleep at night. I'm down to 225 at 5'7.
I couldn't agree with you more. Even though I think I'm in decent shape at my weight (last BF test was about 45 days ago at 15.6% 232) and conditioning isn't bad I'm carrying way too much BW not just for my height but my age. The last time I was down in the 190's was the Excalbur in 07'. If I could hit 195-200 I think I should be good. If that doesnt work...off to the doc for some testing.

Gonna do natural show - masters 40-50 division. Just for shits and giggles. I'm in better shape now at 42 w no dieting than i was 3-4 weeks out at 25 years old - so trying to see what i can do one more time.
Just for fun - but gonna diet and train hard for it. This weekend I have a kick in the balls type of event - and one late October too - but ill be gearing up diet wise and training for more BB stuff thinking of a Feb-March 2018 show.

Good for you. Still have that book you recommended some time ago and use the beginning conditioning program in it. My knees can't take it like they used too. Went back to BB-type training but still keep in strongman movements. At 55 I can't do what I used too.

Graze throughout the day. not many carbs after 7 pm. Keep little to no junk in the house. Dont eat big meals ever or out socially. I have apple watch and probably rack up 4-6 miles a day walking on top of working out that probably helps a lot. And probably most important - little to no sugar. I'll eat fat and protein and even rice and vegs etc - but no sugars and deserts and crap like that.
I know this sounds stupid and simple - but also use mirror - if I like what i see - i keep doing it - if i feel bloated or sluggish or soft - i dial it back a day or two and back on track.

I would also say that my workout routine - sort of backed into it - works awesome for fat loss and muscle retention. Its a HIIT type thing - high tempo but with basic exercises with weights.
We all are different builds - for me keeping fat off is always a struggle - and this works pretty well.
I do 10 - 6 minute sets. 60 minutes
Each set looks something like this for lower body
1 min jump rope
1 min squats
1 min lunges
1 min step ups or or calves or leg extensions or curls.
1 min abs or mountain climbers
1 min rest
x 10
For upper body -
1 min jump rope
1 min pull downs, rows , etc
1 min bench/ dips / flys
1 min military press or shoulders
1 min mountain climbers
1 min rest
x 10
Have gotten great results from this last few months.

Getting older too - I find that muscle retention is not as hard as it is to keep the fat off. So I'm focused on retaining muscle, losing fat, and keeping mobility and performance.
I'm not gonna gain muscle at this stage as i maxed out potential a long time ago so focusing on what i can make gains on now if that makes sense.

Graze throughout the day. not many carbs after 7 pm. Keep little to no junk in the house. Dont eat big meals ever or out socially. I have apple watch and probably rack up 4-6 miles a day walking on top of working out that probably helps a lot. And probably most important - little to no sugar. I'll eat fat and protein and even rice and vegs etc - but no sugars and deserts and crap like that.
I know this sounds stupid and simple - but also use mirror - if I like what i see - i keep doing it - if i feel bloated or sluggish or soft - i dial it back a day or two and back on track.
My diet in similar in that no sugars or junk food, with protein coming from bison, salmon and eggs with a bit of carbs coming from lentils, rice and sweet potatoes and veg is broccoli, brussel sprouts, spinach. Fats are ghee, egg yolks, olive oil, avocado oil, olive oil (and olives)

Pre/Peri workout I've been using MAG10 from Biotest and also will sometimes mix in some Superstarch from Ucan (not too much - maybe 15 grams by weight)
Your workout seems like it might be difficult to do a commercial gym.

Don't know what you're getting at here. Snoring has subsided immensely. Last check up a few weeks ago came out almost perfect, BF at 230 (actually 229.6) is a little under 13% and I'm 55. But thanks for pulling up quotes from two years ago to show how much better I am now...lmfao. Punked again..
